Hi I'm new...been browsing the forums and filling my mind with alot of info...I'm thinking about setting up my first meeting an the providers location list luxery hotel...so with that said a lot of providers use hotels, but don't most hotels use key card access for evening entry and use a security guard for check in....how do the hobbyist get to the providers room?

Not all hotels do this and most providers know enough to stay away from the ones that do.
The security question depends on where you are to an extent. In Boston it's very rare but in other larger cities it can be fairly common. Again, smart providers avoid places that make it difficult for their clients to see them discretely.
Go over to the elevator banks, and go on up. Not all hotels have tight security at the door, but it's a good idea to ask the lady when you call to get her room # if there are any special security provisions at the hotel in question. On a few occasions, I've had ladies meet me at the hotel bar, in the lobby, or even outside, if security was an issue. Be careful with hotels that have parking lots - some do not allow access w/o a key card. Only once have I had to have a guard at the door call the lady in question before allowing me up. That was several years - with a porn star, no less. She was cool with it, so who was I to complain?
As I said, ask the lady you are seeing about this when you call to get her room #...
but after that hour, hotels want to have a bit more control over visitors entering.
Hasn't been a problem for me, as I want my dates to end by 11 PM, and prefer they start before 7 PM.

Go in the front door, walk over to the elevators, and push the button for the floor the lady's room is on.
You will blend in better if you carry a brief case or a small shopping bag (downtown hotels) so you look like a guest going to his room.
Do not be talking on your cell phone when you are walking through the lobby. This may attract unwanted attention to yourself.

Last time I took a yellow taxi from JFK to Manhattan, the driver was yapping in one cell phone, while txtx'ing on another... and I just prayed he was going to deliver me to the hotel in one piece.
The lady should tell you what the layout is. Where to park. Call from your car, not from the lobby where you can be overheard.
Ladies, please tell the gents how to approach! Through the lobby, turn left to the elevator. Room 307. Wasn't that easy!
One Fav lady has incalls at a suburban hotel... next to an outside door. She tells me which door (door C), lets me in wearing an attractive warm up which lasts until the door closes behind us.
