The first call is to get the basic location, like the intersection of 5th and Jackson.  Or the Hilton on 3rd ave and Main street.

The second call is made once you arrive at the basic location to get the exact address or the room number of the hotel.

Remember to make the second call discreetly, i.e., not from the hotel lobby where unwanted attention and prying eyes and ears may be or from the car parked in front of her house where neighbors may begin to wonder why so many men call from her driveway.

Reasons for this system vary but mostly I think it is to make it harder for LE to set up a sting on a lady.

Simple question.  When arranging first time meetings with providers, hobbiest's refer to this "2 call system" as a protocol for security. Exactly what is it, how is it done, and why is it the going custom?

Thanks

Some ladies are able to view the 2nd call location, to see that you're alone, etc.  Once I called from the entrance to the hotel lot, the lady said "Where are you?  I can't see you."  Another time I was given direction which took me nearly around the block, but to a more discrete parking space...  and then she met me at the door.
I'd feel funny if not 2 calls.  I feel anything less is sloppy & sloppy creates problems in the long run.  I got lots of minutes on my hobby phone.
After more than a year, my ATF expects me to walk in, lock the outer door behind me...  calling to her of course.  When I arrived to find a car parked next to hers, you know I drove on by & called.  {It turned out a realitive had left it but she was glad I called.)

For safety measures i guess... dont act to suspicious though after the 2nd call, act like you know the area well
