I brought a prepaid-visa card from wachobia bank.
When I got this card, I paid by my credit card..
If I use this, is it safe from LE's tracking my account info?
I also read many postings about getting VIP, but I am still confused which way is the best.
Let me know whether I can use this pre-paid visa card.
I tried it with a prepaid card from Walmart and it wouldn't work. They said they didn't take prepaid cards. I tried for a few days to get an alternative way to work and finally gave up and paid with a regular card. I would love to know how to do it some other way before I have to renew again.
and look for PP card which let's you register it online at www.giftcardbalance123.com. Pay cash for the card.
Then go online and register it to any name & address, but keep a note of the info.
This topic seems to come up quite a bit. There's a group the prepaid gift cards reportedly work for and many it seems to not. Posts asking for the specific card that worked haven't generated replies that I have seen. I think we need more detail than "get a VISA PP card" or "pick up a Mastercard gift card at the drug store".
If you want to maintain anonymity:
Pay cash for the PP/Gift Card.
As mentioned, find a card you can register on-line. Have never used one yet, but I assume you don't need to give them accurate information when registering the card.
With a prepaid card, I don't think you can use it with the TER $20 monthly fee membership option as that is a recurring charge which obviously wouldn't work with a one time gift card, so you'll need to try the one time charge options e.g. the $50 3 month.

you can go to "Account Manager" and click on the "VIP by Money Order" link and take care of it that way.

BTW, buying a prepaid card with your credit card defeats the whole...hiding the paper trail...intent of using a prepaid card.
I got a $50 Mastercard Giftcard at Pavillions. signed up for the $20 a month VIP and it worked fine. have used other "gift cards" for other online charges and never had a problem. I have had problems with the prepaid "register" cards but never with a "gift card".
