big busy bustling lobby, decent rooms, good midtown location, and for NYC you can get lower rates than for a comparable hotel. Quikbook.com is a great hotel discount site. See if that particular Helmsley is available. This hotel also has good room service.

thats great...why dont we post her room number at the front desk so anyone can come by!

She need to find a large busy hotel that has a busy lobby. People will not notice the discreet hobbyist that calmly makes his way to an elevator on his way to the lady's room. If the lady is discreet, including dress, during checkin no one would be the wiser.
She should stay awy from tourist hotels like one in Times Square or upscale hotels like those on Wall Street. While they have good traffic, they often do not have large busy lobbies for people to get lost in.
As far as LE is concerned. If the lady has well planned traffic to her room and keeps the happenings within discreet, LE is left with camping out and following gents or kicking in every door in the place. Both most likely will have them come up with no one that they can charge.

A)  I agree, NOT SO SPECIFIC on the public
board, guys!
 B) We would PM, but Angela, Get a Mailbox...,
THEN, get a room.
 C) The hotels on Wall STreet stink, too isolated, too hard for hobbyist to get a cab.
 D) Times Square is perfect, anonymous,
conveniently located, most have large
busy anonymous lobbies. Some make you take
escalator to "sky lobby" ... to deter non-guests
from hanging in lobby. Not a problem, just
requires the client to have a brain.

Angela:

Feel free to BC me at [email protected] and I will help you out.  Be careful with hotel selection, especially in the Times Square area.  Places like the Hilton have doormen posted on the street, AND on their sky lobby level.  This is very awkward for greeting gents as you have to meet them on the ground level and bring them up because you cannot access the elevator without showing a room key.  It's not so bad when you already know the gent, but it can be a pain when you have to 'find' one another and of course the doormen are aware of your every move.

Good luck in NYC. The men are the most wonderful men in the world!

Kate. You hit it on the head. Hotels in Times Square do have restricted access. A lady that will be seeing more than one hobbyist will arouse suspicion. And you are right, the doormen watch every move and know exactly what is happening, so does the people at desks on floors that you exit the elevator from. I stayed at a Times Square hotel once and saw two ladies over two days, even with the first one I could see that the doormen had figured out what was happening.
The hotels near Wall Street, forget them if you want to hobby. They are good if you have only business to attend to. BTW, cabs are easy to get anywhere in NYC for me, guess I must have a brain.

Good point on Times Square.  Try some of
the one-of-kind and Foreign names, especially
on the East Side. Laid-back.
