May be addressed on Newbie board. Let me start by saying that Julie's is my goto place for last minute, consistent good service. But granted they're an agency.

Their verification process when I started with them two years ago was to arrange for you to meet a guy (pretty normal looking, not the bouncer type) a couple blocks away in a public space (West 40's at the time). He looked at my ID. Then took me to one of their smaller locations, where only 2 girls were working including mine. Afterward, I felt like I had to go a couple more times before I got to the next level. On several occasions, I ran into Julie? herself. Others may disagree.

Yeah, they have some veteran girls (Marilyn, etc) and average lookers, but they have young girls like Brianna. The better ones tend to be in the "Private stock" for $$.5 (Samantha, Shannon, Simone, currently incognito Sable). Common stock is good bang for your buck (see my review on Brianna). Samantha and Shannon are smoking.

It's really not a big deal, the guy is very low-key and professional, in my case in the dead of winter we met outside a cafe across the street from the then location and just walked in together.  Sometimes girls are in one place not the other and you can wait or walk over, it can be a bit of a dance but once you're set you can relax.  Julie's is like the song in Guys and Dolls, "the oldest established permanent floating crap game in New York," only this is a whore house I guess.  Once you establish you're OK you get something that allows you to identify yourself as a repeat customer, it's kind of clever so I won't say what it is.  I've seen women there who weren't young by the standards of this hobby but not old by my standards, they know what they're doing is the main point and try hard to make you happy within the very real constraints of an incall experience.
