I'm going to get flamed for this but, once again, it's getting out of control. Back in the day, the Hobbyists only used an alias to let the other memebers in on information or to give a response that they needed to post anonymously.
Starting a thread or posting (under an alias) to embarrass and/or be mean to another person is not what the "boards" are all about. That's what the private email is for.
I know for a fact that a lot of the guys are getting fed up with the less than adult behaviour that the NY Board has been posting.

...to (or about) someone, it'll be face to face. I don't need to take pop shots at people from behind an alias. That's the difference between you and I.
The fact of the matter is that a true gentleman or respected Provider does not need to hide behind a fake moniker. Say what you need to say and just get it out there. Just be prepared to take the heat for it if it comes to that.
It's funny how you feel so important about yourself that you would think my thread was about you. In fact, it's about the overall alias use on the board.

I agree 100% with you regarding the use of alias's. I too contend that on these boards as in life....if you have something to say...be a man and say it to my face. Using your actual handle is as close to that as you can come in this forum.
Now that being the case we would have to agree that Mr.(who's name I no longer speak in public) should not be posting on this or anyboard unless he uses his actual handle, correct.
Other than that as you both probably know I have been chastised numerous times for both my frequency of posting and the tone or attempts at humor of my posts. No matter who or what is posted it is never going to please the entire population of the boards. There is always going to be an odd man out or two. These boards such as life need to taken by the beholder......and used at their discretion...it is up to you to find what you are looking for and seize it....seize the beauty in your day. Ignore the rest.
As Santino says he'll wait to see the reponses to his post before he decides what his future will be. You cannot look to or for others to decide what your destiny will be. If you cannot decide for yourself what your future will hold you will never be happy in life. You will always be looking for someone else to tell what you need to know....what you want to know. (BTW Santino I have PM'd you and never recieved the courtesy of a response)
So to Poppy, Poopy, Santino and the rest of you out there. Carpe Diem. The boards are what they are today....don't compare to yesterday....don't look to tomorrow. ....It isn't a matter of "free speech". The website is owned by one person. He decides the rules. If we don't like it, we don't need to be on it.
Just scroll to the top of the page and read what owner expects the conduct of the members to be.
Again, an alias has its' place here. But not when it's used to slam a repected Member or Provider.
Just an "out of town" opinion. But the NY board has been out of hand all summer. Those of you who have taken advantage of Thirsty's busy summer plans will most likely be put on moderated status upon his return. BTW, he couldn't get anyone to cover NY because of some of the prolific BS posting that happens here.
I'm behind Poppy and Santino on this. Perhaps more self policing by the community would help. This doesn't mean that the humor and fun needs to stop, just show some restraint.
I used to read this board often, now I just pass by all the drivel. And that in itself is amazing because in Boston, I am the king of drivel.

I agree with Poppy and Santino and the rest of my pals who have concurred. Real TER names and not aliases is what promotes candor.
never when I criticize another member. The use of an alias when taking someone on is gutless cowardice and I think that the practice says a lot about the person that use it. It always amazes me why someone that is already operating under a cover on this board will need another when attacking another member. I will sometimes rip other members, but I also will compliment members also. I have even criticized a few members that I have had good PM exchanges with and consider myself to be on friendly terms with - but I will absolutely never criticize them under the cover of an alias. My position is that if I am to criticize a person, that person should at the minimum have a chance to take me on through PMs.
If you want to out this person then just
challenge all the LI board members to post in a
thread with their real handle. The LI community
is pretty small. See who doesn't post.

It seems like an attempt to force max to change

BDJ (Kim herself) if they have been getting

I "try" to use my aliases for good natured fun as well as sometimes provide information on providers that advertise on EROS and how it relates both good and bad on TER.

Everyone here has a different sense of humor and what's fun for some may not be fun for others.SPEAKING FOR VR,I enjoy ALL kinds of humor and look forward to it almost as much as reading messages from new and favorite providers. I'm sure there are also many that come to this board just to try and fulfill their next sexual fantasy and have absolutely no toleration for some of the silly attempts at "humor" put forth on these boards. If that's the case....I say to this group...scroll forward and read what you want.Afterall,THIS IS AMERICA!,You can read and write what you want!
In this crazy post 9/11 world we live in with continued reports of terror,missing persons, and the violent war in IRAQ, I look forward to the "escape from reality" on these boards. I believe this hobby in general gives us that "GREAT" escape.One could have witnessed that sensation at Miki's last party. A great time was had by all and we all enjoyed "in person" that sense of community spirit we should all share.
As for aliases embarassing posters. I will be the first to agree that some have beaten a dead horse on this.Criticism and bashing is not what VR is all about. The two latest issues at hand are the alleged "bathroom fetish" TER member and what I believe what began as a good natured poke at Korn's whereabouts.
I'm sure if Korn was here to post, he would not take any of it seriously.I know I don't.If he does object to the sillyness, I am sure we will hear from him on these boards sooner or later and then we should all respect his wishes.

I DO NOT agree with outing the members name(I'm sure Thirsty would agree) on these boards.
Providers who have experienced this supposed unannounced fetish
should just elect not see this guy anymore and keep the information BACKchannel. I'm sure that this particular TER member has providers that will vouch for his "innocence" and everyone can move forward in a positive manner.At this stage of the TER board progression any future posts here would be overkill.

I agree with some of the arguments on both sides of this. I think that the overall quality of conduct on the board has certainly taken a downturn recently. I find that unfortunate, but you can't put the genie back in the bottle, so I just don't participate very much anymore. This kind of stuff is the job of the moderator to control.
It's a free country and people can say whatever they want, if you don't like it, unfortunately, I think you just have to move on or ignore what you find tasteless. I don't see any reasonable alternative if the moderator is in disagreement. That having been said, why anyone would ever use an alias to say something on a board like this, that deals with the subject matter it does, is beyond me. If what you have to say is so egregious that you can't fess up to the comment then you probably should be saying it to the person privately or not at all. I think it's an issue of personal integrity and how a person feels about themselves. There is a high road and a low road regarding all things.
Hell, I use them myself at times for all sorts of reasons. But the point is that until TER bans the use of aliases, we all should just get used to them. Fact is, I find some of them pretty clever. Then again, some of them are just plain stupid.
