There is an unconfirmed report on CL that NYC just got raided.  Does anyone know if it's true?

If you believe anything that is written on CL, then I have a bridge in Brooklyn that I can sell you for cheap.

Email this address as he/she was the one who posted it on craigslsit.

I've heard it's not true; that NYC is still operational.

answer, then they are either on vacation or busted. Post on the Board when you do. Stop the f*cking rumors.

In the words of our moderator:

". . .we are talking about real people with real feelings......some of the stuff referenced here is beyond belief and very hurtful."

"In my opinion and the opinion of others at TER, they are so hurtful and off base that they shouldn't be allowed."

"the only post that were moderated were posts that were hurtful . . ."

"Recent nastyness [sic] has forced a stronger hand on moderation. . ."

"Please do not post messages that are simply mean. . ."

I think it's fair to inquire whether the previous post qualifies as hurtful, nastiness and/or simply mean.

plain spokenness. As you will see from the post above, someone did exactly what I recommended and ended this discussion.

Frankly, there are those who complain about verbosity, which, through nuance, dampens any "meanness" and those who complain about plain spokenness, like yourself.

about rumors, like yourself, when it was a fact it was posted on CL.  I just wanted to find out if it was true and, when I found out it wasn't I posted, too.  Sheesh!

was closed down but then you checked and found out it wasn't a fact but just a rumor and then you posted that as well.  Why not just post facts instead of rumor?

Just for the record, though, I didn't say it was "a fact posted on CL."  I said it was a fact IT was posted on CL.  In fact, my original post said there was "an unconfirmed report on CL."

Listen, you may not want to know it; you may call it a rumor.  But there are a lot of people who would want to know if a major agency had just been raided.  In this hobby, it's better to be safe than sorry.  If a report like that turns out to be true, the advance warning could save our colleagues a lot of grief.  I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't start rumors.  My post was meant as an alert.  If you don't want to be alerted, at least try to be respectful of those of us who do.
