Phoenix girl looking at moving to NYC for film and whatever, wondering what the scene is like and what tips fellow providers and/or gents would have?

What agencies are there that would likely hire on new girls? Anything to know would be wonderful!

Words are completely different from experience. Rent an Airbnb somewhere ideal and explore. I suggest you rent your own place so that you get the ability go to do your own things like shop for necessities and groceries... see if you can manage to live in this competitive, always on the move.... jungle.

Btw, I wish you the best of luck in the film industry. I hope the universe gives you what you deserve and you do good wherever you go. xo

If you want to use Airbnb as your temporary 'home', that's OK, but they have been cracking down on the use of spaces for, eh, too many meetings with transient company.  Neighbors have been complaining and keeping watch in some areas.

OTOH, if you have the time and funds to to do so, finding an inexpensive place outside of central Manhattan and learning to get around the Big Apple like a native is useful and educational.

In AZ, you have rattlesnakes. In NYC, we have rats in the subways. Here is the famous NY MTA Pizza Rat:

traffic. If she rents at a big apartment complex, it'll be complete discreet buzzing the gentleman in who will walk straight into an apartment they dont have to knock on. It all depends on volume and location, I'd say.

If so, why did you recently lower your prices by a couple of hundred bucks an hour and why do you answer almost every single ISO post made on every board on which you post?

Enquiring minds would like to know? Do you simply turn down all the excess requests you get, or are your ads met with as much indifference as your ThreADs?

I bet someone a dollar that you couldn't answer my question without getting mad, how do my chances look?

I work for one of the few agencies here and was pretty popular, but I wasn't using my own apartment, my agency provided an incall for the girls. I would definitely try to get accustomed to the lifestyle of the city before I moved but I was going to move there anyways. I know one agency that I'm talking to but I feel a little like it's not the agency I would get a lot of work through since I am a younger girl and theirs is a lot of older women.

I wouldn't want to use an Airbnb too much only because it's someone else's home and they'd probably be more likely to react badly with any sort of suspicion. Would be be unwise to do outcall only? I will likely have a roommate my first few months of living here. Trying for the midtown area.

Do whatever you feel will work out best for you... It doesn't hurt to experiment. What works for me, may not work for you. We've all got our own style and preferences, thats the beauty of humanity (:

Midtown is an awesome area! I've been really enjoying my stay here. Good luck with everything and don't forget to have fun with it my dear.

There are around 100,000 hotel rooms in Manhattan alone and many are occupied by transient businessmen who might be looking to do something other than site seeing. However, you will miss out on the local yokels who are looking for something on their lunch hour or before heading home for the night and want incall only.

Good luck!
