There is a thread just below about the lack of discussion on this board.  About a month ago I put up a post about giving an ATF's telephone number to my son.    One reason I put up the thread was to stir up the discussion board.

I noticed that there were a lot of opinions which disagreed with what I did, but were constructive in their criticism.   Others questioned my motives--something that was uncalled for because there  was nothing in the information given to support that kind of obloquy.  However, I have a thick skin, I expected criticism and disagreement, and I can even live with personal affronts.

Perhaps others are less hardy in that department and are not ready to subject themselves that way.  I don't regret putting up the post-- I expected to stir up some thing, and perhaps I got more than I expected.   No problem for me.

But I question whether others have skins thick enough to withstand the onslaught that honest discussion sometimes engenders on this board.
