Eddie, that's a BAD policy for 2 important reasons....................confused_smile

1) Not everyone writes full blown reviews for various reasons.

2) Minis are oftentimes  a quick heads up about a girl that may be touring. Sometimes guys wait weeks or MONTHS before writing the full blown review. meanwhile, the girl may be leaving town in the next day or so. In other words, that policy defeats the entire purpose of the "mini" review.

This policy needs to be re-thought IMHO.

As we all know, TER makes it's money from it's reviews.  So... mini-reviews are fine, but they MUST be followed by a FULL REVIEW.  The full review should be uploaded before the mini-review is posted.  Failure to do so is grounds for moderation or possible banning.

i must agree that a mini review can serve the purpose of letting the board know of a provider who might be in town for only a short time when the poster doesn't have the time to get a full review up. Then also reviews don't always get approved right away and so the review isn't immediately available - I've had reviews take three days before they were approved. true the mini review might be abused but the pluses out weigh the minuses.

I understand what you're saying, but like the alias issue, it is what it is.

We tend to lose sight of the fact that TER is a for-profit business.  They make their money because people pay to read the reviews.  They give people free VIP membership in order to encourage them to write reviews, and they provide FREE membership to these boards.  So non-vip members are here solely through the grace of TER.

Plus, the fact is that of the thousands of hits this site gets per day, only about 2% of them are people who are reading the forums; the majority of views are of the review database.  So what I'm saying is that TER doesn't NEED these forums, they provide them as a gesture of good will, and with the financially motivated hope, of course, that the non-vip members will use the forum and see the value of being a VIP member...

As for those who do not write reveiws for "various reasons", I seriously doubt they write mini-reviews.  I also personally think that those who do not write reviews while taking advantage of other's who do are leaches and shouldn't be afforded the privilige of posting to these boards... but that's just my opinion.

Let's face it, this policy is difficult to enforce... I'm not saying that you can't post the mini-review before the full review has been approved, and I'm not going to be checking each and every one of them a week later to see if the full review has been up-loaded; what I'm basically doing is to say if you post a mini-review, please have the courtesy to follow up with a full review in a TIMELY fashion.

without a full blown review.

I can see a more conservative stance for non- members and/or one hit(review) wonders...

although seasoned reviewers can recognize "the diamond in the rough"...albeit "prescious and few"

you're going beyond TER policy.  Indeed, some of us choose to pay our VIP dues and not post full reviews.  But I have done a couple of minis and have sometimes praised a provider whom I have "known" in the biblical sense.

I cant say this is a life or death issue for me, but I dont think an absolute ban on MRs without FRs is justified, though I agree that the privilege to post MRs could be abused.

This is very unusual.  Most of the time, we would post a mini in advance of a full review to alert others to an opportunity for a good time.  full reviews take time to write and often will not be completed in a timely manner to let our fellow members know of a special opportunity.

So are you saying Eddie that we cannot let others know in a timely manner about a special ladie?

So in general I don't have a stake in the argument since I generally don't post mini reviews. However, that said, what I don't quite understand is the relationship you are connecting between why someone would post a mini and then loose the VIP credit by not following up with a full review.

Maybe I'm being slow here but please help me connect the dots.

It happens frequently that someone will post a mini and not follow up with a full review... don't know why, it seems foolish to me, but it happens.

I'm a CL "bottom-feeder" occasionally.  TER disapproved my attempted review of a good CL S. Jersey massage provider due to a "bad website" (i.e. my link to the temporary CL page).  True, one could say that the provider could/should set up a website if she wants to be reviewed and taken more seriously.  This CL girl is one of the rare ones who abide by the CL rules of posting one ad per day and actually only posts like 2 ads there per week, I think.  She posts w/o a phone number, hence preferring to go UTR to some extent.  Essentially, there's little way for me to communicate my unusually positive experience re: this CL girl short of a mini review since she has no website though I understand a website is a TER prerequisite.  I also understand that TER doesn't want reviews of "Mary who stands at the corner of 42nd & Broadway."

I will agree to write a mini and not a full review would seem silly. Why not take advantage of the free days you would have recieved. I myself am a paying member and as such feel I will write a review when it suits me. Does that make me a leach? Hardly it makes me what ter wants a paying member. So if I don't write many reviews I should not be able to post? Thats ridiculous. If ter only had members who wrote reviews for Vip status and no paying members it would not be around very long would it?
So thank a leach!

yours truly
