And it did happen recently although I don't know how many years they have been doing it. LE promoted it heavily as part of their efforts against trafficking but as usual there are few real traffickers arrested.

Don't believe these cases usually get thrown out. These cases usually result in conviction. That is a fact. And they result in conviction mostly because the guys and women charged plead guilty because going to trial on a prostitution charge in front of a jury is almost always a conviction. (Face it: people are such hypocrites when sitting on such a jury.) People are usually given lesser sentences in order to plead guilty.
What this poster is referring to are just a few case cases that the media picked up on. The judge rightfully chastised the cops. In fact, I wondered (still do) why one or more copse weren't charged with criminal sexual conduct. (Read the cases!) If an ordinary citizen did the shit they did, such person would be charged. Mpls shut down prostitution operations for a while after that and decided to enforce (curb) prostitution by enforcing the city ordinances on massage parlors.
Any way.... don't think those cases are usually dismissed. They're not. (Read the case mentioned and look at the real data/statistics/conviction rates.) Mpls is aggressively enforcing now. They have something to prove and to make up. And with the Super Toilet Bowl coming in Feb... well... be careful. Be safe!

A prostitution sting conducted in Bloomington resulted in the arrest of 14 men.
Police officers from Bloomington, St. Louis Park and St. Paul, as well as deputies from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a two-day sting Aug. 23-24 using a hotel and an online ad.
Most of the men were from the Twin Cities, although a 49-year-old Helena, Montana, man was arrested, as was a man with no permanent address. The suspects ranged in age from 20 to 66.

Also on Sept 7, 2017 Officers from Eden Prairie, Bloomington, Richfield, Minnetonka, Plymouth and Maple Grove created the 494 Corridor Group with a purpose of investigating crimes related to human trafficking along Interstate 494. As of Sept. 7, they have arrested 90 people.
"Human trafficking" in Minnesota similar to many states that consider "sex trafficking" a form of human trafficking. Under Minn Stat. 609.321.Subd 7a is " “receiving, recruiting, enticing, harboring, providing, or obtaining by any means an individual to aid in the prostitution of an individual; or by receiving profit of anything of value, knowing or having reason to know it is derived from [the sex trafficking of an individual].
Note in some states including AZ, "assisting" is also part of the law and we have in Washington and a few other recent cases drivers including a husband for an escort were felony charged with sex/human trafficking
Note the U.S. Senate just passed two massive laws including wiretaps of anyone even thought to be related to prostitution, expansion of the current federal laws with increased penalties and a lot easier to go after anyone connected to prostitution. See my summary in the legal section here on TER.
The anti-sex advocates pushing there no women would choose sexwork, they are all victims to "save" them need to arrest them. And more emphasis on John Sweeps. This has been going strong in Phoenix for many years with felony convictions and prison terms if in any associated with a massage parlor, agency, or anytime more than just one person. Even the receptionist at a massage parlor or the Phoenix Goddess Temple raid that was in court for 5 years.
There is a case Grason now at the 9th Circuit challenging the prostitution law in CA which is similar to those in most other states. The briefs on our side are outstanding in my view having read court briefs on these cases for decades. However lots of counter briefs and friends of the court briefs on the States side to keep prostituion illegal. Oral argument on October 9th in San Fran. I post more about this in the legal section.

There are providers that like the idea of going to movies, dinner, museums, etc. and don't charge 300/hr during those periods in public. You'll have to do some research and reach out to one explaining what you're interested in.
