On the not to be mentioned dating/services site I was thinking the ads with just phone numbers were spam.
Are they actual and legitimate ads?
The new rules only allow you to post phone numbers only if you post a new ad.

I'm just curious what the rationale for the change is.
I read this somewhere else, so I cannot be positive if it is true…but I thought it was something like this
The reason is because of the case against Backpage.
Backpage clearly won on the immunity deal for being a website under federal law but they ruled in California their immunity did not extend to money laundering so therefore they can only post phone numbers because a phone number in and of itself apparently is ok
Stop Enabling Sex Traffickers Act of 2017 (SESTA) S. 1693.
Similar Bill in the House (H. R. 1865)
“Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act of 2017" aka FOSTA

TER requires that the ad have a name when you post a review. So this new ad format will not work for reviews.
TER hasn't accepted ads from that site for reviews for a while.
