Is it just me or are the rates crazy? most are 400-500 with many at 650 and up. Wow thats higher then Manhattan. And Miami is average around 250-300
Guess its just me.Low supply, high demand and shift to SD world over the BS that has accompanied the local scenes.

You know your price range then stick with it. If a lady is going to charge 1000 an hour, and can get it, then why should she charge 300 a hour and see three guys? If she gets little to no business She will adjust price accordingly.
I have my budget and stick to it. Like you, I may not agree with some price points, but I stick with in my hobby sandbox and have fun.

I've noticed this too. Many $400-$500. Makes it tough as in Michigan that seems high. A few well known adult stars came through in the spring and summer charging that but to me that is different. They are coming from California or Florida. Would like to see some $350 rates. I guess you just go less often. I have 4 or 5 gals I'd love to see in-state but all are $450 and up. Easy to just let the feeling pass when you factor in gas prices and time to arrange.
It's a free market someone can charge what they want but I agree. I wish prices were lower, it definitely makes me want to hobby less.

I'm with you. I would rather the 250-350 but I get that one asks for the rate they would like to have. But then I also like the UTR lady who is just supplementing her life style.
Like any other market, the prices are set based on the supply and demand of that particular service or product. If the prices were too high, then they would gradually drop in order to adjust to the demand. Apparently, the demand is high enough that our gracious companions can demand higher prices, since the supply of clean, discrete, and pretty companions is relatively low in our particular region.
It's just economics. 
If you want, you can go to backpage and get a BJJ from not-so-discrete mom body. for $150 in a smoky hotel room :-/
I always find it odd to question why some women charge less than the market, instead of asking why more don't.
Many of them have histories of flaking, outing, other 'bad' habits, etc.

I look around the country and don't see that Michigan is different. Aside from Texas and maybe cost of living is the reason there.
And, if you don't want to save for a better date, try being a SD. There are many who have gone that route and gotten a good match.
I do wonder if we're in another economic bubble though. The early to mid-2000's rates were as high if not higher before they fell. I would tell ladies to get what they can while they can, because the next bubble I think many will find SB and SD deals.

That first sentence I meant to say, I think people like the OP shouldn't look too hard for deals. A SB that's cool with being UTR, a regular that gives a deal because it's a good fit, those can be great things, but if you're looking for someone that is just going to charge less than she's worth... she's going to come with baggage.

Anyone paying these local ladies more than 300 has no one but themselves to blame. They seem to get younger with each passing decade and that should be a huge red flag. Have fun with the ones that are visiting and once you get the taste of it, you will avoid these local ladies for ever.
Watch the Latinas, Chinese and Exotic ladies make more visits as the months go by.

I used to live in Detroit and still visit pretty often so it's interesting to see how the market has evolved. I'm most familiar with DC as a comparison. I'll play in a pretty wide price range, but agree that my frequency goes down at the higher prices.
Yes, the current price point for most well-reviewed local independents in Detroit seems to be $500/hr. So obviously they can get that.
There are fewer visiting agency providers coming through Detroit for $250-350/hr than there are in DC and probably other places. Likewise, Detroit has no K-girl or other Asian apartment agency scene like we have in DC for around $250-350/hr. Also, DC has some reviewed non-GFE independents who I can see at short notice for a quick nut at $200 or $250, and I haven't been able to find anyone like that in Detroit.
Detroit has a ton of AMPs but few with FS. I've found them generally not to be a good value for money. A contrast to the 80s and early 90s, when the Detroit AMP scene was fantastic (yes, I'm old).
One thing Detroit has is the SC scene. Nothing like that in DC now, since there's been a concerted effort in recent years to shut down the clubs where you could get extras.
So there's a pretty significant price gap in Detroit. I think the lack of safe, reliable options at the $250-350/hr range allows the well-reviewed local independents to charge more because risk-averse guys who have the money will pay it.
I have no idea what impact the sugar scene has in Detroit or elsewhere. I'm just not in a life situation where I can consider trying that.

Thats why i travel to Ontario. High end is around 350 but most are 150 to 200. You subtract 20 or 30 cents on the dollar and its even less. Chatham, London and sometimes Sarnia.
Local ladies may prefer to market to the random business traveler over the regular in many ways
But, the ones that need it probably don't.
Charge too much and visitors will come. And, they are.
I think most of the locals increasing rates have steady grandfathered regs and are reaching out. And, that's their right.
Guys should note that though. As someone who has had regs go that route, the worst position you can be in is seeing a woman who won't accept more but is willing to play those games.
Travelers and opportunity in Detroit has never been greater.
But, stay away from the local game players.
And I dropped my rates from my home of Vegas to accommodate. I used to keep my rates high too but I realized I liked being busy and meeting people as opposed to sittin there twiddling my thumbs waitin on some company!

to me. i noticed the same the last 2 years in DC.
I have found the high rates (+$600 per hr ) are not justified. i.e., the performance /experience isn't any better. So I don't do it any more. What I do is just book longer dates with ladies that have reasonable rates.
It's a win win. She makes more, I get better value.
It does depend. You're right that a lot of new women see the rates others post and don't know they have books of regs that don't pay that.
But, I'm all about getting what you can get, and pay for quality and being a pro.
Because I've had experiences that low rates meant high risk.
I can admit i do change prices when I go to some cities. Then again sometimes I waste money on ads and see how people would react to the pricing. I had posted in Pitt for one time, no replies at all. I had a few people play on my phone,but none actually booked. I then turned around one month later and posted again for 350. I had none stop replies and dates.

But us as providers have to know what we want, when choosing to tour to a certain city, how many dates do you want, etc. Smaller cities I do have a price change. But thats just my way of working around the map.
