It has called my attention that provider's phone numbers are used to post fake ads and fake news to scare away potential clients. Are these people resentful wanna be clients ? agency managers/owners? Are the number of roses we take and the attention we get as independents a threat to someone in the market? it's really mind blowing such actions of hatred and resentment.
The amount of INTENTIONAL deception has been on the rise for the last few years.
Might just be my opinion, but I blame a lot of it on social media. Getting to know the intimate details of people's lives just puts them "out there" for others to ridicule. Is it right? Hell no, but it is today's reality.
It's everywhere.....in the mainstream media, here on the boards, etc. Seemingly, no place is safe from people trying to undermine others.
In the hobby, in years past, there have been coordinated efforts to ruin a touring lady's business. I was asked, on more than one occasion, to book with a lady only to cancel the day before. This was because some "White Knight" didn't like a particular lady because she may have said something derogatory about his ATF. For the record, I never participated in this type of activity.
Could agency owners be behind this? Sure, some have been in the past. I do not have any comments about agencies and how they handle their business due mostly to the fact that I do not use agencies, I only see independent ladies. But I do know that some of the less than reputable agencies that are no longer in business had, shall we say, suspect business practices.
Hatred? Resentment? Yup, the level has risen in every aspect of life. Blame whomever you wish to, but it is our new reality. What can be done about it? I can only take responsibility for my own actions.
Everyone else should do the same and I think we'd all be much better off not only in society as a whole, but most definitely as a "sub-culture" such as this hobby.
