What if you are an escort who works, just doing incall in New York. Let's say that you did the whole screening process before you saw someone at your incall location. What if a cop got cooperation with a bank or telephone company to say that when a person calls there say that they work there. This happened to me. Is this legal for the cops to do? So then the screening process that you set up did not work because the cops had cooperation with a company to say that they work there. I think they can then get in your apartment and do a sting. What would be the point of forbidding this type of investigation? It doesn't seem to raise the risk of arresting innocent people or put anyone in more physical danger than other tactics. Having a civilian lie to help an undercover investigation is standard practice. Help like this is actually part of the definition of undercover work, since the civilian's lie is the cover that the officers are working under under.
The only ones who would benefit if police couldn't act this way would be escorts conducting business. Lawmakers and courts aren't eager to protect escorts' interests unless doing so also furthers some important public interest. I don't see one here.
Can you give us more details? Was it an in-date or out-date? Big sting, or target a few unlucky ladies? etc.

It was an incall with just me. But I guess they do put in alot of time in getting escorts. One girlfriend of mine, who is also an escort told me that it happened to her friend in her own apartment too as well

In general my opinion of LE is they looking for drugs or too much traffic of people. in other words complaints, then they get you if they want too.
