I had paypal awhile now, 1st large transaction w/ them, now after went thru they put a hold on my $$ say email has the word "sexy" and not verified say can take 185 days to recieve .. : (

Having had my paypal account frozen in the past, I know how frustrating and infuriating the situation can be. I took the advice of a friend and was polite and didn't argue with them. Arguing will get you nowhere. I just fixed the things that paypal told me were not in compliance. Two weeks later, voila! My account was un-frozen, and I took my money out (whew!).

I'm not sure what you mean when you say the email has the word "sexy" in it. Is that word in the email addy you use with paypal, or was it in the "note" section of a transaction, or something else?

If there's any mention of paypal on your website, remove it.

If you can, change the primary email addy on the paypal account to one that sounds ordinary and not sexy.

Get verified now, if they'll let you. If they un-freeze your account, then you can transfer the funds to your bank account. If they don't unfreeze your account, they will send you a check made out to the name you used to open the PP account. That's the only name they will make the check out to.

Maybe you need to upgrade your account to a Premier or Business account. If so, ask them how you can do that. Let them think you are still interested in using their service and that you are cooperating in every way you can. You don't have to say that. I didn't. I didn't want them to think I was desperate or scared. I just handled it in a polite, business-like way. I thought what they were doing was unfair, and I wanted to rip their collective head off, but I didn't let on.

Whatever it is, try to fix it, if you can. Be patient and polite, and hope for the best. Good luck!

Hey Thanx for the advice, I have a business acct already and never had paypal on my site at all.
It was actually a private transaction but my email is [email protected]  andhave had transactions from there before but not over 1,000 and you know they even collected there fee 1st for the transaction, they accepted it and then put account on hold! !  So should I change my email account with paypal?  Sabrina

Well still no luck and they said they will send a check with old amount in there. They are giving me run around and I never never had paypal logo on site.. I spoke to the other party who sent me $ and we will work it out  thanx

... that makes withdrawals directly out of bank accounts is subject to abuse, and that's what happened.  PLUS, it leaves an electronic paper trail.
