Ok... SO!

Back in December I paid 200 for content writing to be done on my website since I didn't have the time to write out everything myself. So I paid my website people to do the writing to which they said they'd be able to do it. So I go ahead and pay the price only to get bs'd around about family emergencies and not having the time. So, DAYS go by. He even manages to have absolutely nothing for me on the day he said he would have it. His excuse was he paid some girl at the company to do the writing but he didn't like her work so he was going to do it himself.  I said okay and weeks later still received nothing. So now, I am not a happy camper. I did my photoshoot and did most of the work on the site myself and really wanted to launch the site on the date I had in mind which was Jan 27.

Jan 27th passes and I still have nothing. But it's too late to dispute the transaction with Paypal because PP only does disputes that are less than 45 days old. Imagine my rage when I found that out. So I call the website company and send emails and no reply. I'm completely flabbergasted because I paid this man a lot of money over the course of 2016 and at the end he decides to fuck me over during my revamp.

So fast forward to today and I receive an email/ invoice requesting payment for 105 for domain and hosting. I'm in my feelings because I already paid 200 for services I never received. I was actually amazed the company sent me anything because they stopped correspondence so long ago. To be honest, I really feel like they should apply the 200 they stole from me to the invoice they sent.  I told them that via email but they haven't gotten back to me and I don't believe they will....

I held back on blasting them on every escort website but decided against it because I didn't want that associated with my brand but I also don't want anyone else taking a chance with them only to get ripped off. I do have plans to out who they are but in a respectful manner within the next 24hrs if I don't receive a reply. Am I wrong to do so or well within my rights?

Mia

But I would bet you are a provider that would criticize hobbyists for being bottom-feeders and getting scammed by low-end girls.  Most professional IT guys that really know what they're doing won't even take a crap for $200.  I will tell you the same thing I tell hobbyists here:  MOVE UPMARKET.

You can whine and complain and warn other people, but there will always be people that will get taken because they are price buyers and go for the low price regardless of the red flags.

If it was strictly a copywriter 200 bucks is the standard fee. Complete web design for escorts starts at 500 bucks. Veda and others offer complete designs with domain names from the ground up. It sounds like she tried to do it piecemeal.

By the way, your assumption is utterly disgusting and a bit overconfident
and it's obvious from your reply that you didn't read the post entirely but skimmed
the post instead. You  should really do some research before making assumptions especially
if you've never seen a post from me complaining about bottom feeder hobbyists.

Also, I paid well over 500 for my website and by no means took the cheap way out...
not sure if you clicked on my reviews or viewed my website, but if you did I am very
confident that you didn't see anything cheap about my website.

"You can whine and complain and warn other people" Wow.. so me paying for a service that wasn't
rendered is whining and complaining. Lol, what a brain on you.

...noticed other than the one she is complaining about?  I don't see any.  Perhaps you can enlighten me.

Before you do anything else, go over the terms of service or any other contracts, agreements, etc. that you have with the company. My first Qs are:
.
Who owns the domain name? - If they own it, you can't just claim it and register it with another ISP.
Who owns the content? -  If they created web pages for you, do YOU own them or do they retain ownership and claims on layout, look, feel, etc.?  Who owns the copyright on the verbiage? If they own, you can't just take it with you to another ISP.
.
Re-read your contracts before doing anything else.

The issue has been resolved. Thank you to everyone who bothered to reply.

Do you own the domain, or does the hosting company own it?

If you do not own your own domain you need to take steps to get it in your name IMMEDIATELY. If "your" domain belongs to somebody else they can literally put you out of business with a couple of keystrokes the next time you have a dispute with them.

This is not just for your benefit, but for anyone else reading this, NEVER let someone else control your destiny, you need to own and control your own domain.

Actually, the site looks very nice and professional.

I took it here and it was made known. I moved on and stopped using a website.
