Regardless of the incall location (apt/hotel), either I or the provider always locks the door behind us.  And by doing just a little homework I should know she is not LE.  In the event LE comes knocking at the door, is there really anything they can do when she answers the door and we're not having sex?

if she is wanted by the police, they can take her.

If they smell pot...

get into the habit of not talking about the money for time and never call her an escort may help....in case they are easedropping with devices. I always ask my clients to refer to me as a date and I ask them if they have a place to hang out rather than incall/outcall.

depends on whether she is working with LE too...research your providers and still be on your guard for the first visit for any bizarre questions

Your turn, Sidone

and anyone who doubts this (can't be many) should understand it clearly.  You can fight 'em in court, and you can win, but it takes time and money and involves the possibility of some publicity you may not want.  Having said that, there's no crime involved even if they catch yiou having sex, unless they also see or hear an exchange of money.  But they can charge you with a crime, and cost yoiu an awful lot of inconvenience.

I got into an arguement with someone I knew for 7 yrs and picked up a DVD that I bought with credit card and he had me arrested for petty theft claiming the dvd was his. I still went to court with bestbuy's receipt that was looked up and it cost me some money.

I try to stay very polite with LE and don't go to bars or hang around people with drugs. I try to never use profanity and have some clients who are good ole boys but it is a game of chance.

At least I am single w/ no kids and most of my family is in other states. That helps in case the worse happens.

Thanks, wannarideher, but I have nothing to say about this one.  The question doesn't ask about the law.  It asks how to get away with a crime, and professional rules forbid me to offer such advice.

it was to disrespect

unless your real name is sidone, would LE check?
I would take all advice with a grain of salt since this is the internet

you could write for entertainment's sake

I understood your intent; I simply tried to rise above it.

LE isn't the issue.  I suppose giving someone advice re: how to get away with a crime would often qualify as aiding and abetting, and sometimes as conspiracy.  But the professional rules I mentioned aren't statutes and aren't enforced by the police.  They are enforced by the bar, which doesn't have to prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt before it can punish an attorney.

More to the point, the reason I became a lawyer was to help people use the law to protect their interests, and not to become an expert consultant on how people can break the law and get away with it.  I think laws against prostitution should be repealed, but unless and until that happens these laws are still binding.  The fact that people break these laws doesn't bother me, but using my legal education and skills to help anyone break any law would go against my personal ethics.  This would be true even if there weren't rules against doing so.

just wondering...is any attorney interested in appealing prostitution laws as everyone has sex.

This should be a smaller struggle than Roe vs Wade with the adult movies and Girls Gone Wild and Jerry Springer shows out
