I may possibly be visiting Montreal in a couple of months.  Just wondering how the laws and regs in that part of Canada differ for the hobbyist than in the US.
When meeting a provider up there is it pretty much the same protocols as in the US?
Fees quoted on TER for Canada presumably in Can $?
Probably would be looking for Outcall to my hotel but may be flexible to Incalls.
Any help or guidance would be appreciated, thanks.
Canada is very different than the U.S since they follow a harm reduction basis. Outcall has always been legal and the Supreme Court ruled incall also legal based on their Charter of Rights and Freedoms.  Then the conservatives passed C36 making it only illegal to be a buyer.  Most believe this will also be thrown out if challenged in the Courts since increases harm.  Most large cities LE have made it clear there will be no enforcement (including Montreal) if no real crime.   They do go after under age and "real" pimps, with real victims not pretend victims mostly as in the U.S.  They also go after street Johns with stings based on complaints as a public nuisance.

Agencies have always been the preferred way for most.  They provide safety, work with police if any bad clients and provide drivers and security but since no real legal issues very rare to have any problems.

In pre Supreme Court decision days "living of avils" was illegal and today so is advertising for sex other than by the prostitute is illegal.  Agencies never had a problem under old law, nor new since they only sell time, not sex.

If you speak French I would recommend Montreal. For my more intimate sensual interests nothing beats some of the French Canadians via the French agencies other than maybe some of the Eastern Europeans in Toronto.  They are also less costly $CDN200/hr or less for outcall last I checked vs about $250 or so in Toronto.  With incalls now legal, many agencies have opened up incalls at lower rates (about $200/hr in Toronto).  Again you never pay for sex only time.

You always get $CDN since for the last year has been about $CDN $100 = $US75.  Avoid any money changes at airports or hotels, but get via ATMS where you get the true exchange rate without the markup of the money changers.

Agencies have huge websites, with pictures, stats and info on gals with their working schedules for the week.  Appts very easy via schedulers. No two-call systems other than at a incall once at a specific hotel or condo may have to call 2nd time to get room number.  In a one-hour outcall driver will call an almost time at about 50-55 minutes.  Very efficient, safe for all and no legal issues.  There are huge review boards, I have almost 2000 posts on a big one with my decades of trip reports etc.  Just remember you never pay for sex or discuss sex with the agency operators.

There are also many indies but can have the same scheduling etc problems as in the U.S. And they tend to me more expensive i.e. $400/hr vs $200-250 of agencies.   The agency gals also make far more of the split than the illegal agencies in the U.S. and get a driver for security, agency ads on most of the big Canadian boards and get picked up from their home by a driver if not just driven between appointments.  Safe, sane, consensual adult vs the issues that create the harm in the U.S.

Another plus 1 for Montreal.  You don't need to speak French.  If you search the Internet, you will find a local forum ending in cc that will give you more information than you can imagine.

Yes there are plenty of English speakers.   For my more sensual interests and not paying top prices, the french agencies tend to have the more naturally sensual French-Canadians and speak French.  For those just interest in the usual and hourly fee is not a major consideration there are plenty of English speakers.  Agencies who provide drivers etc are far more popular since no legal issues since they only sell time.

Yes, the cc reference is by area of Canada and huge, Montreal, Pacific and Toronto.  I am active on the T one with almost 2000 posts.

There are many warnings to Canadian companions to be careful when entering the U.S. since border agents can demand to look at cell phone, history on websites etc and any hint of sexwork will be denied access since illegal in the U.S vs Canada favoring harm reduction making it legal most LE will not enforce new C36 against customers if no harm. Instead they go after "real" crimes and under aged.

Davephx,
Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

I just returned from a tour in Montreal and I can tell you the law is in the providers favor. The simplest way on of my clients broke it down to me was like this: I can solicit you but you cannot solicit me. So basically, do not go up to a woman and ask if you can see her for "x" amount for "x" amount of time. The weirdest thing that happened to me was a different client handed me the cachet. It was... different.

Also, your patronage is all in CAD though some providers will offer you a USD rate. Note that the USD rate is much higher since it'll be converted to CAD. As you probably know, the USD is pretty strong in Canada right now. The rates vary from $180/hr CAD to $600/hr CAD. It really just depends.

Finally, you do not need to speak French to spend time in Montreal - though it did help. *So glad I took six years of French*. There are many providers who speak English only or are bilingual. You'll be fine.

Either way, I had a ton of fun and did very well. Since a lot of my provider friends are up that way. Depending on your preferences, I can point you in a few directions as some people are on hiatus and some have come back from vacation. Also, this is not the board of choice from Montreal. If you want to know what it is, PM me and I'll give you the information.
