cause excuse to justify the stop. His question on drinking etc was an indication that he was there to check for drunk drivers. Los Angele's cops stop drivers before and after the bars close and play these games for years. Likewise school speed limitations only apply to when the school is in operation, not late at night. ...shit-eating grin on my face at 12:30 AM.  It was a high-priced residential area and I went over two speed bumps going past a school.

A cop coming towards me suddenly made a U-turn and pulled me over.  He said he could tell I was speeding by the way I went over the speed bumps.
He asked if I was drinking (never say "yes" -- you must really be drunk if you admit it and say "yes").

He asked for my license, registration and proof of insurance.  Then he told me to follow his finger from side to side with my eyes only, without moving my head.  After I did that, he told me to slow down.  Then he gave me back my registration and insurance card and started to walk back to his car.

I said: "Where's my license?"  He walked back and gave it to me.  I looked at him and said: "Maybe you should follow my finger, dude!"

Fucking fucker!!

That reminds me of the time a cop pulled me over while I was on my favorite road on my sport bike.  The cop was about an 1/8th of a mile away, but he said he could tell I was speeding due to my lean angle around a turn.

I proceeded to tell him that I could go around the same curve at the same speed at a variety of lean angles depending on whether I was hanging off, sitting straight on the bike or (not recommended) sitting on the high side.  After jerking me around for a while running all my info, he let me off with a warning because he had no idea what my speed was, he was just being a dick because he could.  Fucking fuckers, indeed!

they will stop you for anything they can think of (or maybe just make up a reason) because they want to see if you have been drinking (which is a good reason not to be driving at that time of night if you have been drinking).  I've been stopped for not stopping for a flashing yellow light before at about 2 a.m.  I told the cop I didn't have to stop for a flashing yellow  light.  I've been stopped for driving left of center on a residential street that had no center line markings.

Fuckers indeed!!

The OSP 'Respect METHodology' for dealing with authority lol

Several years ago, I was driving through a small rural village near my new home.  I was lost; did not have a GPS at that time, and was searching for directions.  Well, I came upon a police car on the side of the road with its lights flashing so I decided to pull over and ask the officer for some help.  Innocently, I got out of the car and approached the officer to get directions.  Well, the young cop (about 21 yrs old) jumped out of the cruiser and pulled out his weapon and pointed it at me and told me to drop to my knees and raise my hands above my head.  I tried to explain that I just needed some directions, but he continued to demand that I drop to my knees.  I don't know what came over me, but I got really pissed.  I told him "fuck you, if you want to shoot me you are going to have to shoot me in the back" as I turned around and walked back to my car. I was so fucking mad that I truly did not care if he shot me in the back.  I guess it must have been the supplements I was taking to get big in the gym.  To my astonishment the cop did nothing, he did not even try to pull me over as I drove past his cruiser.  A few years later I was working out at a local gym and made friends with a cop from the same town. I told him the story and he just laughed and said the cop that pulled me over was known for being an asshole and was a pussy.  We just laughed and went back to working out together.
