I made an appointment with a provider that toured here last week. I scheduled as soon as she announced she was coming. Sent in all of my screening along with a deposit. The day before our meeting, my schedule changed and I was no longer able to make it. I sent an email explaining what has happened, offered an apology, and was pleasant as usual. I sent the remaining $$$ so she didn’t lose out on anything. Her response was, “ok, thanks for the heads up”. And that was it. I was hoping I’d at least get a thank you for the $$$. Is this the norm?

I don't know if it's the norm, but it certainly is rude.  PM me her name, so I make sure never to see her.

As a provider, I feel that we are lucky when the client stills takes care of us if they need to cancel.  I am so sorry this happened. That was very rude and extremely ungrateful of her.

She should have said thank you or even offer to reschedule if at all possible. You went above and beyond by paying the entire amount and I have done the same and will continue to do the same. Good chance she filled your timeslot, but I respect these providers and their time.

I scheduled with a provider on tour and right before I was set to send the deposit (within 20 minutes) I called and told her I need to re-schedule. Mind you she was a week away from coming to town. She went ballistic on me and told me I needed to pay and keep my word and she can not just change schedules - she's busy. I reminded her we just spoke 20 minutes ago and the appointment is a week out -are you telling me in 20 minutes you are completely sold out? There was a brief silence and she became that sweet provider again willing to work things out.

I took a hard pass. I respect peoples schedules and even providers that do not require a deposit gets paid by me if I have t cancel which is rare. If a deposit was already sent and the appointment had been confirmed I would have gladly paid the entire amount even if she had plenty of time to re-book that time slot. But I think I dodged the bullet with this one. She seemed unhinged and capable of snapping from the smallest of perceived slights.

If she is anything like the ones I see on Twitter... she actually does not give two F about the client and is as entitled as one can be. The more I see providers tweets, the less I want to book anyone.. In your case you did the right thing and went above and beyond and she was rude as fuck.

I happily host incall dates in Summerlin so I'm understanding when locals who might have a schedule change need to cancel. I am always friendly and considerate to those types of snafus and could NEVER imagine being so rude. Perhaps it was an oversight or just a bad day. Please know YOU are the exception and NOT the rule and that any gal on this board would gladly meet such a considerate gentleman!

The provider reached out to me and explained what had happened and was very grateful for the donation. Some days you’re the pigeon, some days you’re the statue. It sounded like she was having one of those statue days and it was an honest mistake. Better luck next time I suppose.

I've had guys cancel and not offer anything and don't even want to pay my cancellation fee regardless if same day or a few days cancel.
Us ladies who tour greatly appreciate it when a gent does what you did quite a few feel like they do not have to pay the cost of their appt in full. Also are very surprised when the response is they cannot rebook if they could not pay the cancel fee. I am not making excuses but perhaps she was in middle of traveling or couldn't respond in depth at that moment but wanted to acknowledge that she received the remainder $
Some guys here and on other sites could learn a thing from you regarding how to cancel and the effects on a traveling provider. Especially in this climate when hotels and planes are skyhigh these days.
