Viagra side effects

24 hours after taking Viagra, i get terrible heartburn.    now i use an off shore version, wondering if people's experience with the Branded version is any better as well as other that also use the "generic" version.

good news though,  patent expires at the end of the year and an official generic has already been announced.
ps the heartburn is worth it  LOL

The generic is 100% the same in my experience, though I don't have ED and am mostly taking it to reduce refractory period. I do get headaches on it sometimes, and levitra and cialis are both much better in that regard.

It's very unlikely that the viagra is causing heartburn 24hrs later, as it's well out of your system by then (4 hour half-life).

My guess is that you have acid reflux and need to look at your diet and overall stress level. It's likely that the sexy time causes your cortisol levels to drop temporarily, but then when you come back from dreamland you're still stressed, which causes your cortisol levels to bounce back up and you get heartburn.

Sildenafil is the generic name for Viagra.  You can get ninety 20mg tablets at Costco for a bit over $90.  That works out to about $5 for a 100mg tablet.  I do not know if I would trust an offshore version unless it was from a pharmacy certified by a board of pharmacy.  You might just be getting a dose of sugar in there and that is it.  Counterfeit drugs are big business because of the high prices they get for these medication.

I did not know generic Viagra was available from US pharmacies yet.

It is the active ingredient in Viagra.  The 20mg tablet is called Revatio.  It is used for pulmonary hypertension.  The generic version of Revatio is approved, and you can purchase this instead of Viagra 100mg.  Talk to your doctor about it, and use Costco or a private independent retailer.  The chain drugstores will rip you off on pricing no doubt.  I paid a little over $90 for 90 tablets.

Was this the first time using this generic brand?  If you used it before, did you have the same side effects?  Maybe it was a bad batch or depending on dosage you should break them into halfs or quarters.

I am a doctor, heartburn is not really a side effect of Viagra.   if you got it overseas or over the internet, good chance you didn't get Viagra at all. I know it's expensive  but it really does work.  Just go to the doctor, we'll give you a script for the real thing.  1 in 3 times there'll be a sample in the office too. (Pfiser has cut back on samples....)

So, you are a professional photographer AND a doctor I see. Yeah SURE you are. lol

Just how stupid do you think we are? and yes, that was a rhetorical question.

Hate to be picky, but let's get tne correction straight..it is Pfizer:

but at least I didn't claim to be a doctor, and in my defense I made this post way before the drinking lamp was lit, so I am going to claim PWS, (Posting while sober) lol

Now my fuck up aside, does anyone believe this douche bag is a fucking doctor?

lol, I am REALLY tempted to edit my post and I am still well within the four hour time window to do so, but fuck it, when you make as many posts as I do, you're bound to fuck up a few. I'll own my mistake, now let's see if the OP will own up to being a liar.

Yes, I am a doctor *and* I hold a master of arts in photography.  I had a full darkroom in my basement back before everything went digital.

Don't assume everyone is one dimensional.

And, yes, it is spelled Pfizer! I still have the Pfizer Viagra tie they used to give away when reps were allowed to give us gifts years ago.

Heartburn isn't a common side-effect with Viagra.   Headache, facial flushing, nasal congestion.  Those are the common ones.  An aspirin taken with the Viagra will blunt some of these.

Anyone who wants to meet for a drink is welcome to see my medical license and my portfolio.  If I don't have both, I'll buy.

Doctor or not... you are wrong about heartburn.  I've used Sildenafil aka Revatio for the past couple of years, and it's given me heartburn more than half of the time.  That's never happened with Levitra.

So I've tried bland diet, quit caffeine, dairy and alcohol. I need coffee and I like wine so instead of depriving myself I eat a few almonds and keep water handy. I'm not sure if your meds kill your appetite but hunger can feel like heartburn. What does the bottle advise?

Feel better!

thanks for the feedback everyone.     the generic works but i wonder if its diluted and not good quality QC and thus if the real stuff would work better.   i feel its positive effects long after the official 4 hour period and the heart burn is consistent and only after taking so its obviously the cause and this has happened from two different generic suppliers.  fortunately that's the only major negative side effect.    i guess i am just too sensitive    smile.

well there is one other major side effect ..  the drain on my wallet caused by what the viagra allows me to do!   LOL
