MGM Resorts announced June 6 as the day it will begin charging for parking at its Las Vegas Strip properties.
As explained on its website dedicated to parking, MGM Resorts states self-parking will be charged for vehicles that park at properties for more than an hour. The company also stated parking charges vary by property:
For Bellagio, Aria, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, Mirage, New York-New York properties:
0 to 60 minutes: No charge;
1 to 4 hours: $7;
4 to 24 hours: $10;
Over 24 hours: $10, each additional day.
For Monte Carlo, Luxor, Excalibur properties:
0 to 60 minutes: No charge;
1 to 4 hours: $5;
4 to 24 hours: $8;
Over 24 hours: $8, each additional day.
In addition, MGM Resorts will charge for valet parking with prices varying by property:
For Bellagio, Aria, Vdara, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, Delano, Mirage, New York-New York properties:
0 to 4 hours: $13;
4 to 24 hours: $18;
Over 24 hours: $18, each additional day.
For Monte Carlo, Luxor, Excalibur, Circus Circus properties:
0 to 4 hours: $8;
4 to 24 hours: $13;
Over 24 hours: $13, each additional day.
The company stated parking fees maybe higher for special events, such as New Year's Eve.
MGM Resorts is holding off on charging locals through at least the end of the year. According to its website, guests with a valid Nevada driver's license can enjoy complimentary self-parking for up to 24 hours. The offer will extend through Dec. 29. The comped entry does not apply to special events and valet parking.
MGM Resorts were already instituting paid parking since T-Mobile Arena's opening in April.
