Just wanted to share something with the board to lighten things up and stick it to the man, so to speak.
I recently made a quick business trip to Vegas and spent one night at the Delano. (Been there many times)
I was shocked to be hit with a $30 charge to valet my rental car. When I refused to pay I had to self-park.

I mentioned the inconvenience to the lady at the check in desk and she said. "Yes and is there anything else."
Upon my return home I got a survey from the Delano and I voiced my disapproval of the attitude and the parking policy. Here is the email answer I got from a Manager in guest relations.

"Our parking fee policy has been carefully designed with the goal of improving our customer experience"

So took it upon myself to call this very intelligent person and asked them one question:

How the fuck does making a choice between getting gouged for valet parking that used to be free and dragging my luggage down 3 flight of stairs in a 115 degree heat in a parking structure improve my customer experience?

She could not answer that question, she refunded my resort fee.......

agree - the parking fee is a pain and just another way to gouge guests (should be included in resort fee if you're a guest). However you can always pull up to valet or the through area and unload with bell services.

 
Just remember the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Speak up, ask for management if staff is rude and always be polite even when inconvenienced

Im sure most locals already know about the fees.
 But if not this is what Fox New reported.
 For these specific Hotels as of now.
  Main reason for this charge is the new T-Mobile Building.

MGM Resorts announced June 6 as the day it will begin charging for parking at its Las Vegas Strip properties.

As explained on its website dedicated to parking, MGM Resorts states self-parking will be charged for vehicles that park at properties for more than an hour. The company also stated parking charges vary by property:

For Bellagio, Aria, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, Mirage, New York-New York properties:

0 to 60 minutes: No charge;
1 to 4 hours: $7;
4 to 24 hours: $10;
Over 24 hours: $10, each additional day.
For Monte Carlo, Luxor, Excalibur properties:

0 to 60 minutes: No charge;
1 to 4 hours: $5;
4 to 24 hours: $8;
Over 24 hours: $8, each additional day.
In addition, MGM Resorts will charge for valet parking with prices varying by property:

For Bellagio, Aria, Vdara, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, Delano, Mirage, New York-New York properties:

0 to 4 hours: $13;
4 to 24 hours: $18;
Over 24 hours: $18, each additional day.
For Monte Carlo, Luxor, Excalibur, Circus Circus properties:

0 to 4 hours: $8;
4 to 24 hours: $13;
Over 24 hours: $13, each additional day.
The company stated parking fees maybe higher for special events, such as New Year's Eve.

MGM Resorts is holding off on charging locals through at least the end of the year. According to its website, guests with a valid Nevada driver's license can enjoy complimentary self-parking for up to 24 hours. The offer will extend through Dec. 29. The comped entry does not apply to special events and valet parking.

MGM Resorts were already instituting paid parking since T-Mobile Arena's opening in April.

true, but keep in mind for complimentary self park it is pearl, gold, platinum and noir and for complimentary valet it is gold, platinum and noir

You're not the only one who is complaining about MGM's new parking policy and fees.  I belong to a Vegas travel forum and a lot of members are saying the same thing.  Some are speaking with their wallets and will no longer stay at any MGM properties.

It's really unbelievable that MGM think that parking fees is a way to "improve their customer services" ...LMAO.  I have a Vegas trip coming up in a couple of months and I'll be staying at one of there competitors properties who still value my business by not charging those crazy valet fees!

That card is synced with the info of your drivers license.  
They scan it to get out of self park and they scan it getting into valet.  

 
MLife could flag you if you tend to come/go frequently without apparent use of their casino or facilities.  

Maybe I sound paranoid but it's a reality we live in where there is a digital trail anytime your info is scanned.

My next trip to Vegas is this coming Sunday-Thursday.  I always rent a car, will be staying at the Palazzo and absolutely REFUSE to go to ANY MGM-Mirage property.  There are enough other venues in town and will not gouge customers.

The word is that locals will also be paying the same parking fees as of the end of this year.

increase revenue in order to raise their stock price.  If MGM Mirage wants to increase revenue and their stock price, they should concentrate on respecting their customers, to encourage repeated visits to their properties.  They need to stop the nickle and dime pricing (resort fees, internet fees, parking fees, ect.) tactics which have made me a former MGM Mirage customer.
