Ok, so I have never tried marijuana; but I have discovered that it is legal to buy in Nevada and Las Vegas. THEN I read this little snippet:
Recreational marijuana means that anyone with an ID over the age of 21 is free to purchase the products here. But under current Nevada law, they can only smoke or ingest it at their private residence. Hotel rooms don't count. Casinos won't allow it on their premises because it's still illegal federally, and they'd risk losing their gaming licenses. I read in LVRJ, that there is even a Drive-thru available to purchase marijuana. So, is this all true ?,If you walk down a hallway in the hotels you can definitely smell it.
This has been going on for years before it became legal without the medical card.
There is a drive-thru dispensary out here but that is off of the strip going towards north las vegas.
Being that you have not smoked before perhaps the edibles with a low THC level might be your best option.
That way with edibles you don't have to worry about the smell.
I agree about the edibles, first time I tried edibles back in college (I am not saying how long ago, but dirt was still young back then) we baked some brownies. Needless to say the high was not immediate so we ate all the brownies and when it hit us, we could barely walk. But we learned to take it slow with edibles. The high can still be very very nice if you pace yourself and not smell, except the delicious edibles.
I don't like smoking anything anyway, except for maybe one cigar a year, in Vegas with a nice old Scotch.
I agree with Jaydalee about maybe starting with edibles, but be careful even with the lower amount of THC.
It may be my metabolism, but the first time I tried edibles, it took a while to kick in, and when it did, it was different than smoking. It was all at once and I was couch locked.
(Granted, I wasn't aware of the THC level and my friend should have warned me. Ooooopsie!)

Sativa is uplifting, almost stimulating, and can enhance creativity. More of mind high.
Indica is more of a body high. More relaxing and can cause the "couch lock" that I mentioned. More touchy-feely.
Or a hybrid with both!

For years I was unable to partake due to work issues
(random drug screening). Now, I’m semi retired and on occasion can indulge in some of the finer things in life!! Well, i have discovered and incredible change that has my head spinning. It has become (probably has beeen for a while!) a delicate and precise science that boggles this tiny brain!! Choices that I never thought would be possible. Life is good!!!
But I did get hit with a $250 bill from the Aria for smoking in my room. They added it to my bill after i checked out.... chicken shits.
Why take the chance....and get a $250 charge

Edibles. Well go slow and expect a delayed effect.
Or just smoke...stay in your room, have some munchies and beverages on hand, so when it hits, you don't have to leave the room and possibly make an ass of yourself. Most likely you will fall asleep.

Lisa made a great point. Get a room with a balcony. Vaping, sublingual drops and edibles are a great way to go. No smell.
Getting a balcony or staying somewhere with the option. Just in case you want to consume outside of edibles.
I'll be at Cosmo during the week of Xmas. I've never done edibles and I'm looking for something that will give me a good vibe and eventually put me to sleep. Do these edibles give you a hangover effect? I take ambien and I'm not looking for something like that. FWIW, I plan on doing all this in my room at the end of the night to take the edge off a busy and hectic day. Thanks ladies and gents for any recommendations. 😎👍

I don,t know anything about ambien and it’s interactions with weed. I would read the material they give you with the prescription and if you still want to know more, talk to the pharmacist. Privacy laws should protect those conversations.

I’ve been smoking and doing other forms of marijuana for 50 years. The first time I smoked it, I was in the Navy and had a top secret clearance.
Here’s my suggestion on the edibles. When you purchase the edible, you can talk openly to the “budtender” (that is what they call the people who wait on you in the dispenseries.) Tell them that that you are a first timer. Tell them you want to do an edible or whatever you think might be right for you. Ask them how long the edible will take (about 45 minutes in my experience) and what the proper dosage is. I would think for a first timer, you might try 25 mg but the budtender should be more knowledgeable.
You might also talk to the budtender about other forms of use. My favorite is vaping. It is virtually odorless. You can do it almost anywhere undetected.
By the way, it is an f’n blast to have sex when you are stoned. Do your edible about the same time you do your cialis or viagra. Have fun.

I've been smoking reefer for 50 years now. Have toked up in dozens if not hundreds of hotel rooms, several in Vegas. Note where the smoke detector is. Don't smoke anywhere near it. Use a pipe. Take small tokes in a ventilated spot, like near the window if air is drawing out. I also turn the shower on hot to create steam and toke up in the bathroom. Just don't openly smoke in the room. Also vape pens do away with any need to worry about all this.
I never tried it either (and I went to college in the late 60s- go figure), mainly because I don't like smoking and I couldn't stand the smell. I went to one of the retail locations (message me for the store) and I explained to the salesperson my situation. He recommended mints and gummies. I tried the mints- absolutely no action. Another night, I ate dinner and tried a gummy. Two hours later, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I was by myself, so I had nobody to share the experience with, so I just went to sleep. If I try it again, I will take a half a gummy.
