...Labor Day is the 1st Monday in September.
Decoration Day is 30 May. Congress moved it to last Monday of May so they could have a long weekend. There are several citys that claim to have started the tradition by decorating the graves of deceased veterans of the War Between the States.
HOWEVER: I am not discouraging your display of the Colours.
