I say Schaumburg and (or) Rosemount both have nice places to stay as well as things to do. Easy ride to and from the city. Nice and easy for the guys in the burbs. If you like I can email a few places to you. But it will be off the board.

There are events in each area specially that impacts each area.

Rebecca, you have some good suggestions.  Consider splitting your time between downtown and the burbs.  You can get the best of both worlds.  Enjoy!
