Touring or not?sad_smile

I have a few questions for the ladies.

Do you think that touring is a "must" for us providers based in the Carolinas?
Also what determines the success of the tour: city of choice, number of reviews and score, pictures?

For those that dont like touring other cities, how do you keep fresh in your city?

Guys feel free to give your input as a client if you want.

so what I'll say is if you don't  think you'll like it, start small, maybe picking out another city in the Carolinas so you won't have to deal with the airlines. I'm based in the Raleigh area and my first "tour" was Charlotte and I really liked it and did well.

I tour now some and I have "my spots" I've developed. I like getting away for 2-3 days/nights for a change of scenery every couple of months.  But I always like getting back "home".  A far as a must goes, a lot of it depends on where you are based in the Carolinas and in some part how long you've been in the biz in the same spot and what your financial  needs/goals are. Hope this helps you in some way.

I can't imagine a woman phrasing her question this way, can you?

What woman would consider the number of reviews she got as a metric to gauge the success of a tour? Number of appointments, yes. Money earned, definitely yes. Number of reviews??? not so much.

I will say if a gal is relatively new with no reviews, or just a few, or hadn't toured a city before and gotten reviews for guys in that city, believe it or not it "can" make a difference.

That said you may be on to something.

I can definitely tell you're a clueless man because you dont understand the meaning and the dynamic of this business. So I will just ignore your response.

Steph,

I have been in the business a long time but I have not toured much because I have always wondered what if I go and spend a bunch in hotels and airlines and the clients cancel on me. I have toured a couple of cities in the past and its always hit or miss.
I see some women go to NYC and DC and a lot of my local clients have met girls that go to those cities and do pretty good.

When I started in the business I was debating if work independently or for an agency and when interviewing agencies I was told that they wouldn't send a girl on tour in certain cities such as NY unless they had a lot of reviews, I can see that because NY has a lot of women therefore a lot of competition.

I am based in Charlotte and Raleigh has never been good for me. When I have advertised that I was going to tour I had maybe 5 or 6 pre-bookings but then I had 3 cancellations prior to the tour and I decided to cancel the tour. I wouldn't go far for 2 or 3 clients. To me is not worth it. I have a pretty good clientele here but I would like to have more income.

I've been in the biz 19 years and I have lots of questions regarding touring.  I totally get where you are coming from.

If you want to drum up business, find a doubles partner....or two!

for a few days, you'd be busy and there would b some guys walking around with shit eating grins on their faces for weeks, lol.

my opossums got loose? Would my visitors get creeped out with little beady eyed opossums staring at them the whole time? Could it cause performance anxiety?

You are sweet Steph! But I would just DIE if I got caught sneaking opossums in the room

I specialized in multi hour dates and have a minimum booking of 1,5 hours so when I drive to an area my out of pocket expenses are not as high and the hotels in the Carolinas are quite reasonable compared to NC, NYC and Boston and other big cities.

As far as cities in NC go, IMO Charlotte gets more out of state biz travel and have more locals who play because it's a bigger city than Raleigh.  I've noticed more out of state ladies tour Charlotte than Raleigh. But  Raleigh is the 2nd busiest city and I know of ladies local to the Charlotte area that do well in the Raleigh area as well as some out of state ladies who come here.. You aren't that far from Greenville SC so maybe a couple of days down there would be fruitful for you. You have to take a chance to be successful.

Reach out to me if you want to talk privately. :)

Touring is a lot of work. I admire the gals that do it. There is a lot more to touring than one realizes

I keep things fresh by posting crazy pictures on TER and my blog

I think in a decent sized city like Raleigh you can make a comfortable income without having to go anywhere.  Of course this is largely dependent on rates and how picky you are with choosing clients.  If your lifestyle and bills costs you a lot of money and you charge higher than average then it's probably worth it to tour.  I personally would only go to Charlotte in terms of touring the Carolinas...otherwise I would head up north.
