Looking for things to do while visiting town next month. Working a couple of days and taking a day to sight see.

Interests: art, kink, dive bars and craft cocktails, music, and food. I've never been to Charlotte before so any recommendations are welcome! Would especially love to know of any kink friendly events in town!

Thanks in advance!

Sweet Melissa: hell yes! This is such a good list! Honestly, trying to find just one place for craft beer alone was overwhelming, you aren't kidding about it being everywhere! Bike tour sounds awesome.

As far as kink, I peeked a little bit on fetlife, but people often get a bit funny about being a pro at some of those smaller circle events, and I didn't see much happening other than munches. C'est la vie.

This list is so great though! Thanks so much, y'all know how to make a gal feel welcome! Will definitely be hitting up as much of these as possible. :)

The area in general where Soul Gastrolounge is very cool. There's a great dive bar right by it called Snug Harbor and a well renowned diner called The Diamond around the corner. Down the street is Bistro La Bon, a great french restaurant. There's tons of great restaurants uptown, Elizabeth, Plaza Midwood, NoDa, Southpark (chic mall there), Ballantyne.

The Fillmore is a great music hall and there's a lot of restaurants and music venues around it. It's uptown.

If the weather is nice, check out Lake Wylie (near SC) and Lake Norman (north of Charlotte). Lots of fun stuff there.

Carowinds is a great amusement park if you're into that. There's also the Whitewater Center here.

Hope you have fun!!!

One of the coolest dive bars is Abari up in Davidson area, the booze is good and cheap and the atmosphere is friendly.

That's so funny you'd mention Abari, I was going to mention it as well, but couldn't remember the name of it lol. It's a really cool place!

Hope y'all don't mind me reviving this thread. Soul Gastrolounge sounds awesome but it's a bit out of my way. Might anyone have suggestions regarding dinner options I should check out in Uptown next week?

Kings Kitchen - one of my favorites in all of Charlotte and a great story
Price's Chicken Coup - best fried chicken in town?? - been around forever (more south end but right on the rail line)

Just saw this, and it's too funny -- I had lunch at King's Kitchen. It was quite good.
