What is with the latest Ghosting trend in Boston?

Of late there seems to be an alarming trend of disrespect towards ladies. And I know I am not alone in saying I have well and truly had enough of it.

What is with the latest trend in Boston with men thinking Ghosting is okay?
If you make an appointment and can't make it, or change your mind about the evenings event have enough decency to spend 1 minute of your time to cancel?
There is an alarming craze of men thinking it is okay to book a lady, have them get a hotel and then half hour before cancelling leaving the lady out of pocket for the hotel that was gotten for the sole purpose of the date.
Or even worse men who claim they are leaving the office, and are on their way then suddenly ghost never to be heard from again. Even though they are on their way to what ever else they decided to do instead, the lady is left sitting there all dressed in the requested attire awaiting their arrival when they in fact have no intention of coming.

Can someone please shed some light on how to weed out those that have such little respect for us?

There was a thread about this the other day on the General Discussion board (see link).   This unfortunately isn't just a local thing nor is it just the client who is guilty of this.

As to how to weed them out, some ladies will post here about such an event and will tell others to PM them for specific info.  I've seen others use their Twitter accounts to do the same thing.  If you have access to the PO board, you could share that info there as well.

Thank you for sharing, I haven't been on the general discussion board before.
Call me old fashioned I guess, I always have respect or courtesy for others and the ghosting I have experienced in the last couple of weeks has been unbelievable.
It happened again tonight, which is obviously why I came here for advice.
I seriously don't get the whole I am on my way, and then not evening showing. It's something I would never ever do to another person.

Also I don't know what the PO board is. I am still learning how things work in the US.

The PO board is a Provider's Only board.  There is certain criteria that a lady has to meet to be allowed access to it.  The General Board can be rough and you certainly need thicker skin.  Responses to threads are totally unfiltered.

Ghosting happens all the time.  I had the very unique experience of having it happen to me a couple of years ago when I showed up at the door and then nothing.  In the span of less than a minute she elected to ghost me.  I had previously met the lady too so it's not like I was unfamiliar to her.  She was the one who initially reached out to me to let me know she was in town and wanted to see me.  Funny part was that 3 months later she reached out to me again, but I never responded.

I feel bad for you because you invested both time and money to arrange a location and now you're out that investment.

BTW, I've had a chance to meet a lot of individuals from NZ and I'll have to say you folks are probably the nicest and friendliest group I've encountered on my journeys.

Thank you, Kiwi's are great people. We are laid back, happy and bubbly. I am glad you have had the opportunity to meet on your journeys. I am glad you encountered what we are all about.

Hahaha I had a quick look at the other General Board, and all I can say is WOW, that was certainly an eye opener. I can't say I will be going back there anytime soon. I don't like seeing such nasty and derogatory posts. Everyone likes something different.

Thanks I will look into how to access the PO board :) I really appreciate you taking the time to help.

Is the Newbie board.  On that board, you can ask questions and get honest feedback, from both clients and providers.  The feedback is generally more social and nowhere near as harsh as the General board.

...that's the first mention I got from my thread that wasn't a pathetic  rant on what an A-hole I was.
It won't happen overnight, but I'm pushing and encouraging the continuous movement towards electronic currency.
There are many moving parts, yes, but a system of 20% deposit for booking appointment would make most sense.

and I saw no reason to beat an otherwise dead horse anymore.  I personally only missed one appointment because I was traveling and lost my phone.  I had no way of contacting her.  I did make it up to her by sending her a gift card when I returned home.

If you seriously think your post is going to make a difference, hate to tell you this but it won't.  There are many more who don't read the boards or who don't really bother with this site.  The other's have already taken a "don't preach to the choir" attitude.  So take their advice and worry about how you do things.  You are responsible for you.

lol, I'm sorry if I gave you that impression, NO I'm not under the impression my post is making any difference.  I'm just talking shit really, killing time, reaching out for support & resistance alike.

I'm just talking, there are better alternatives to the way the hobby operates, I'm interested in hearing thoughts on what they are and how to put them in place

It is up to each lady how she deals with this, what adjustments she makes, and ultimately how she chooses to run her business.

If a guy asks for a specific hotel it is reasonable for him to pay a deposit.  That's one way to do business.  My style is the opposite.  I pre-screen ahead and call to book at the last minute.  I will go to the hotel where the girl is already at.  I take my chances with the girl being available...essentially filling in an empty space in her schedule.

This hobby has a lot of risks: getting arrested, getting killed, losing money.  But it does pay off for those that figure out how to manage things.

Expect cancellations.  The further out a booking is made, the less likely it is to happen.  Many touring girls start pre-booking weeks ahead and simply cancel the visit if there is not enough interest.

The situation sounds horrible, totally unacceptable. There is just so much local tv one can watch while waiting patiently.

It also happens to us.  Recently texted, on my way, see u in 1/2 hr, get to general location, text again that I'm close and nothing. Kill 1/2 hr still nothing. Cut my losses and chalked it up as something that just happens in this world.

It didn't cost me anything, unlike u, but there is still disappointment and anger.

I however found you, GM through this post and have to meet you now.

Offering incalls because of this.. I can't believe how often it happens to her.. a guy books 2 hours then doesn't show.. in her case, she counted on the income.. and then has none and has paid for a room..

When I have had to cancel.. I always give at least a days notice.. when I am going to an appointment and traffic or something delays me.. I ALWAYS am in touch.. I don't get it.. standard courtesy..

To say that it happens to us , is right... but that is no reason to think that it is acceptable.. If a girl stands me up.. she will do it to others and will not be in the biz very long..

Did I say it's acceptable? Quite the opposite.

It works both ways. Last 2 appt I had flaked on me. Well reviewed ladies too.  Very disappointed.  One of them tells me she wasnt able to book a place when I was on my way to the place she said was booked! The other tells me omg... I totally forgot.... as i am sitting in the parking lot calling, sending texts and emails.  I could just leave bad reviews but then Ill be black listed on a lies.... because thats how it works apparently.

You can only write a review if you actually met them.  In both situations that didn't occur.  You're only option would be to identify both ladies who stood you up on a board post or you could have individuals PM you for that information if you want to avoid any blowback from either of them.

either way, letting others know about what happened blows back on me.... even with pms. Kindabdefeats the purpose of a review site.  If a lady blows you off and flakes, should be out there to warn if it shows as a trend..... dont waste your time.

I'd like to hear more opinions on this?  I don't know that it's true, I guess it could be?  What if you're white-listed?  Wouldn't provider references counteract the fear factor of possibly receiving a negative review?

I contacted her about 2 hours before I needed her and we agreed on a time, and when I later arrived at her incall I texted her to tell her I was there.  She texted back saying she needed about 5 to 10 minutes to get ready, which I said was fine.

I patiently waited in my car for 15 minutes, passing the time playing Scrabble on my phone (☺) and I when I texted her to find out if she was ready I got no response.  I thought maybe she was in the shower or something so I waited another 15 minutes and texted her again.  Still no reply.

Waited another 15 minutes and when I texted this time I asked if everything was okay, and told her that if she needed to reschedule that was fine.  After waiting around a little more and getting no response I finally left and was pissed off.

I drove about 45 minutes to her hotel, kept her updated about my ETA when a traffic accident caused a major slowdown during my trip, which she appreciated, and then waited almost an hour for some kind of response.

Like I said, she is a well-reviewed and popular provider and I was surprised that she bailed on me like that.  I guess she didn't need my $300.  😏

can you pm me who it was, I would like to stay clear.

What with providers ghosting?  If a client does it they get black listed.  What's worse is fishing.  When providers claim they are coming and then cancel on you last minute.
