Soooo true- Thank you.

My balance HAS been wack- too many "supposed to's" and not enough "want to's." I had to take "fuck it" time- and a bottle of rum. (I got a system w/the alter ego thing, though- IDK why this works, but after every appointment I go to Ezells or Popeyes to turn off w/some fried chicken. Brings me back to me, every time)

My close goal is to go legit in a year and pay taxes on this venture- I've been in the biz in some way off and on for over a decade, and it's only in the past year I started investing. "breakfast, lunch & dinner's for beginners, you don't even know"- C. Gambino. Well, now I know, lol. So many girls have nothing to show after upkeep- I've decided not to be that girl, looking money but broke.

My far time goal is real estate, South America, and some other stuff.

Right now I'm looking to expand in my field. I'm niche, but damn is it a good niche, and it can last for the long haul-
IF I don't burnout.

Actually, reading your response brought me back in focus. Thanks, and enjoy the sun Ms Nasty!

As I get older, I find the time between mini-vacations is reduced. It's not the clients, it's not the sessions, it's usually just those random every once in a while sessions that set me off, that put me in a mindset of "I desperately need some whimsy in my life, or a mini-break to keep jadedness from setting in"

This time it was a client who felt like they couldn't say no-communication is very important to me, and to look at someone who feels like they have to go along with certain acts (that they don't enjoy) in a d/s atmosphere because that's what you're supposed to do, well, it kinda makes me sad. (anyone remember the FL r*pe scandal? yeah, I don't want one of those)

And I am not in this business to be sad, I am in this business to enjoy myself, make money, and educate others, and sometimes myself.

Occasionally, I don't need a vacation-I just every once in a while set up application requirements that doesn't make too much sense just to create a sense of fun. (quoting John Candy, or doing the "Roger Rabbit", sometimes staged picture requirements)

Burnout is a real risk in any form of providing. So, what do you do to keep the blahs& jade away?

Anyone who has been in this industry for over a decade will tell you need a balance in your life.  I used to work everyday in my younger years, and see several clients a day.  You can get jaded, and burnt out.  The money can make you greedy as well.  I pick, and choose who I play with now because I have the freedom to decide who is worthy of my time.  Setting limits & goals for yourself helps.

Right now I am about to take a 5 day mini-vacation in Del Mar, CA just to relax & enjoy the beach.  What are your goals in this business?  I think more providers should set goals.  My goal is to retire with a house on the beach.

Many providers get caught up in their alter ego, or whoever they are pretending to be, so just remember at the end of the day your not Mistress so & so you are a real person with needs too.

Take breaks from this business always have something to look forward to without providing entertainment.  My personal opinion is money is not as important as your own self.  Take care of you 1st.  Moderation.

We all need to take some "Fuck-it-all." time now and then.

The problems will still be there when you come back.  The difference will be that now you can tackle them without feeling bad for yourself.

I am soo glad you posted this OP it makes me feel better to realize I'm not alone.

I definitely love what I do. I don't burnout often because I limit myself to 3 appts. a day, although most are 2 hours. What sets me in a funk are new subs you take the time to screen and put the thought and time into the session and they cancel last minute. Especially when all week you have told subs that call you are booked! Sub's seem to do it more than other clientele groups. Makes me just want to take a break for a day or two. I will have a month where everyone serves as expected, then I will get a week when a few get scatter brained on me. I just don't want to work if I'm not in a good mind space.
