How to read a provider profile

The General Information and Service may include  "S/M" as in "Service      Escort, S/M".

Then, in the Service Offered section there is a category, "s&m" and here you will find "none", "spanking", "light" or "heavy".

This raises several questions in my mind:
1) How can General information include S/M as a service but then say "none" in the s&m category in Service Offered?  How should I read that?

2) In the s&m section of service offered, what is the difference among "spanking", "light" and "heavy"?

3) If a provider is listed any type of s&m, whether in the general description or service offered section, how can you tell if she is dom or sub?

Thnks

And since the profile is only set once, excepting for problem reports, any bad information from the first reviewer stays for ever.

So, I don't put much credence in those profiles and instead read the reviews in order to determine whether I want to see someone.

Yes, definitely! The reviews are fine, but check the provider's website for sure - look for a list of BDSM services/role plays/scenarios and that will tell you a lot of what you need to know...

I'm a BDSM sub/escort, so people get confused about my services a lot too. It's annoying.

The only way is to read reviews themselves on ladies that have S&M marked "spanking", "light" or "heavy".  Even that is deceptive as BDSM is often a YMMV thing and is often not reviewed as especially subbing require a ton of trust and only a fool would trust everyone. I hope you find what you're looking for.

What's one of the taglines on the splash page for TER?  "Will she....?"  Well, I think we all know that when it comes to BDSM/fet/kink/whatever, there is no easy way to get that information on TER.

Yes, you can look through this particular discussion board, or the BDSM section of "Regional Ad Boards" for some information--but it's often not enough info to go on.

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that there are BDSM-friendly providers in pretty much every region that TER covers.  But good luck finding them by hitting the BDSM boards.  For whatever reason, most providers do not bother with the BDSM boards--especially those who do a fair amount of vanilla GFE work also (maybe this is because of the one ad per per week limit?  Not sure..).  I know that providers are not allowed to have two different profiles on TER, so they're kind of forced to pigeonhole themselves as "GFEs who are kink-friendly".

Then there's the problem (about which I complain constantly--not that anyone at TER cares to address the issue) of providers who really are kink-only.  Many of these women (primarily the domme-only types) claim in their websites that they are not FS, and the prospective client will be lucky if he's allowed to leave having been "allowed" to HJ himself to a happy ending.  Some of them really do mean it--some of them don't--or they have one rate for "domination only" and another for "kinky GFE"-type sessions.

At any rate, there really ought to be a way for the hobbyist who knows what he's looking for to find that information quickly.  (Many providers have told me that as it is, the reason why there are so many ISO posts on the regional boards is that most of the guys on here are too dumb/lazy to use the search function.  As a non-dumb guy who frequently uses search, I find that when I'm interested in kink sessions, I'm forced to either use ISO posts myself, or do a lot more homework, like digging through each provider's website, trying to figure out if FS might possibly be on the menu of that particular provider)

I have occasionally looked at some other review sites that supposedly specialize in BDSM--they're all pretty poorly organized, lack the kind of "critical mass" of providers and hobbyists to make them a primary resource, or disappoint in other ways.

There's a truly under-served market here, which TER could sew up (even if it meant tweaking this site a bit--or simply creating a sister site oriented strictly around kink).  I see it as a win-win-win scenario--I don't understand the resistance to getting it to happen.

I could not agree more with anything you've said.  Thanks for reading my mind.  It seems I've heard rumors that TER has plans to make changes to better serve those of us who are largely interested in kink play.  Hopefully that happens one of these days soon.

How long have BDSM types been saying and begging for a way to search (quickly) for BMSM providers?
And... RokkKrinn, you are right, it would be a win/win!

I AM glad there is a BDSM board and BDSM ad area, so thank you TER for that.  : )

The S/M boxes checked "heavy/Light" etc are almost worthless, as the review almost always starts talking about great bj's and intercourse - huh?

and look at the Providers that post there a lot. At least that way you know who's into and and can try to contact them for an appointment.

Here's the conundrum: Max Fisch is the source for professional and skilled dommes. They have recent reviews of all practicing dommes, focussed primarily in the NY area--BUT: Max Fisch will ruthlessly scour out any mention of sex. TER--sex aplenty BUT--who is really skilled at being a domme?

Yes, yes, I know Madame P., we all know that you combine both. But in addition to the self advertising dommes, a TER reader will have to rely on reviews. Santino is a good source. Trust him. I've reviewed and can recommend Dante Posh and Tatooed Asian. Both  are skilled and sensual: Dante extraordinarily skilled as a domme, but she will always be in control; Tatooed Asian with a hobbyist's interests and skills, her enthusiasm can make up for any shortfall in skills, and she is unrestrained sexually. There are no shortcuts to careful reading of reviews.
