It's just a sign of the times.

I find it pretty typical that not only in this world but in general the younger generation much prefers to text.  It's almost like the reverse to a old-fashioned phone call.  There are a few people I communicate with that really only use Facebook messenger which I hate. They already have too much information on everybody.

So a provider I wanted to see checked out my references. She has stellar reviews but has been in the game for only a couple of months. She has communicated via email and text only. I tried to call her and have asked her to call me. She said she would but has not yet? Is this normal?

as a generational thing or as a less personal way of communicating.
She may also be passively resentful of you telling her what to do.

Maybe she just hasn't been in a place where she can call you without anyone hearing the conversation. Can be hard for me sometimes to make phone calls. How long have you been waiting for this call?

They literally email probable cause subpoenas and get every single message and email you've done. Tapping the phone takes more work and cost more money.  Nondescript text or emails or best followed up by a phone call.

As has been pointed out-a text creates a written record ...........

So if you don't want a record-don't text or send an email.......

Yes-a phone call can be recorded-but the written word is the written word....

Comes down to how bad do you want it !

Not be able to fully grasp her concept of time. If she doesn't call then it is up to you if you wish to pursue an appointment or move on to someone else.  I would choose to just move on to someone else. The only time A Hooker as ever called me was to borrow money so keep that in mind.

Find her for my free session.  She is long gone so that was a lesson learned .

Yeah, anytime a provider is contacting you asking for money. It is best to ignore it. It is sometimes a tactic for those about to retire.   Most providers do not want to see former clients when they resume their lives.  Their rationale is to milk it for the last few dollars.  They know whomever reacts to it will not sue them them payment-lol

Nope, usually any money that you provide is the last you see of the funds or them.

The fact that her car had already been repossessed. Man was I taken for a ride, but not literally.

after texting back and forth establishing some level of comfort, he insisted that she call him causing her to go ghost.

1) men call at all hours when you have your phone number on an ad so 'text only' is pretty normal to see (they will still call despite this)
2) I like to immediately look up a number when someone texts me so I know who I'm dealing with (and whether it's worth even talking to him)
3) I don't want to get stuck on the phone with some guy who wants to talk about services/waste my time
4) I have a real life and cannot take calls all the time
5) when I'm actually at home I have roommates that I do not want to hear me on the phone
6) I like to have a visual list of the screening info (from text/email) to look at so I'm not stuck tracking down the guy/references in case I wrote something down incorrectly
 7) I just don't want to talk on the phone unless it's with my parents

One guy sticks out in my head who said he wouldn't book me unless we spoke on the phone. So we spoke on the phone, I go to screen him and he's the biggest time waster in my city with tons of flags about how he jerks off on the phone.

So there are tons of reasons. Why do you need her to call? Frankly if she's fake a phone call likely isn't going to weed her out as long as there's a female voice on the other end. She's clearly busy and text/email expedite the process for her. Maybe she has a vanilla job with weird hours. Who knows.
