Wow!

I have been a member on TER for quite some time. I never really used it before because it was so confusing and all my stuff gets pulled for looking like ads. Also, being a Texan, the OTHER board was easier to navigate...in my opinion.
Now, I am an Atlanta resident and am told TER is the main board in this area. However, trying to find the ad space in the first battle, attempting to create an ad that does sound like one is the next challenge, and lastly...posting a PICTURE...IMPOSSIBLE!

HELP!

1. Look to the upper right of this board (before you open a post) you will see "Questions". Under it you will see links to "The Self-Help Center" and "Message Board Policies". These will answer your questions.
2. Self-Help Center has specific topics on Ad posting guidelines for Providers and more.
3. Ads go on the Atlanta Ad Board. The Message Posting Policies explain what is acceptable.
4. The Newbie Board (aka FAQ's for Newbies) is where many of your questions have been asked and answered many times. Feel free to ask there. The first post at the top of the Newbie Board is TER's Instruction Manuel. It's the same as the Self-Help Center.
5. You must put your photos on a site like imagecoast.com so they will have a url. You copy/paste the photos url into the Picture url box at the bottom of the posting page when creating you post or ad. When you click post message your photo will show in your post.
6. Reading the Message Posting Policies will help you know how to keep posts on discussion boards from looking like ads and being removed.

You have a lot of reading to do. Be sure to read the policies before trying to post an ad or a discussion post.

and I am pretty much forced to rely on that other, icky board to which you refer. I have been a member of both boards for getting close to 15 years (well before their name change) and while I find the reviews over there helpful, I doubt I have more than a hundred posts on that place compared to tens of thousands of posts on TER. I think the disparity in the numbers speak for themselves.

I think once you get used to TER you will find both the discussion boards and the review system to be much better than what you have experienced in that other place, not to mention you won't be called "overpriced" here for "daring" to charge $300 hr. lol I know a lot of touring ladies and they almost unanimously complain about the quality of mongers they have to deal with on that board, many of them have simply taken all of Texas off their map of touring destinations because of it.

As for having your posts pulled, a couple of things to remember, you can only post a pic on the photo board or your weekly ad on the "AD" board, except for the various theme threads that TER allows and encourages. You can NOT link your website to any OPs, but you are welcome to do so on all other board posts. You have already linked your reviews to your handle, so you already have that going for you. Blatant AD posts are not permitted on the discussion boards, but threADs are permitted as long as they are "veiled" and they follow all the other discussion board rules.  This thread is a perfect example, it could be argued that it is a thread as it is definitely a "look at me" post, but it is completely permissible under TER rules.

I was told that TER was THE board out here and i've been here for 2 days and its been painfully slow. I was just tryin to meet people in ATL before I came out here and they said it was an AD. Very frustrating. If you need help girl PM me ;)

...you found the place to advertise and got picture posting figured out. Welcome to Atlanta.
