OK travelling to Bangkok in Nov. (1st time). Im looking at hotels right near Nana Plaza. Ive checked out a few. Magestic Grande, Dream Hotel, Landmark. From what Ive read, you book a room for two and bringing a "guest" back is fine w/ proper ID. But how about 2 guests? Which is what I intend at Bangkok prices. Would I need to pay an extra "joiner fee" for no #3? Im actually OK w/ that, I just dont want my plans spoiled last minute! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I have stayed at Dream once. No issues with extras at all. That was the only time I stayed close to Nana Plaza. I have stayed at Landmark too, and had no issues. I prefer to stay on the other end of Sukhumvit.
I have stayed at Regency on Soi 22 most. The staff are friendly, the welcome guests with IDs, and they call up to your room to make sure everything is good with you before they let your guest leave. They usually have an English speaking police officer out front that can help, I never needed him. They did allow a guest without ID once, but I had to walk her out and let them know I was ok. Most Hotels in the Nana area are guest friendly, those are all good hotels around Nana Plaza. You might also want to check out JW Marriott. If you send me a private message I can give you more info, I have been living here for 7 years.
