The BBC reports that in their latest survey 4% of men pay for sex.  That strikes me as low, but I really don't know.  What are your opinions?

ALL men pay for sex..whether its directly or indirectly..of course we all know that BBC stands for british bullshit company..

...to paying for it, above and beyond the aforementioned marriage and dating tolls!  lol

I've never had a friend or known any guy who participates in the hobby.  Never known any guy who could sneak that kind of money out of a tightly regulated budget..... When I was younger, I "paid" 5 MPC in Southeast Asia occasionally when I had a rare opportunity to some hot young tight Asian gals.  That was my first and only experience in my youth with "paying" straight out for sex.  Majority of guys I knew who had SO or a wife at home did not participate.  Once I was back home, girls were on the pill, and I had as much as I could handle.  Now as I'm older, that well is drying up quick, so to speak.  I'm good with the 15%.

We all pay for sex.... dinners, flowers, jewelery, wills, homes, furniture, cars, clothes, some forms of barter are more efficient than others and more direct...but directly or indirectly...we all pay for sex and will till the day we croak..... sex is the quid pro quo.....  Nobody knows this better than us older guys and gals.....as this applies to cougars as well....

Good point.  My SO's always brought a lot more to the table than any provider could, but the relationship is for a longer term.  P4p is for variety and short term, I don't think comparing the two types of relationships is legit.  Expectations of the two types of relationships is totally different.

If he is the sole breadwinner, she is doing her part. Add kids and she really is doing her part. If she works as well, well she needs a raise.

In this case, the sexual exchange is more for the want of the other person than an exchange for duties done or the roof over the head.
