Any older guys have any experience transitioning to a low carb diet?
I'm 67 and a week into a keto diet. It's different. Not as hungry. Don't get sleepy during the day.
Impressive wood in the morning, the likes of which I haven't seen in awhile. So that's cool.
I've made it over the hump with the carb cravings and am curious to see what happens after a few more weeks.
I'm fairly active but would like to lose 15-20 pounds.  Can anyone report a deeper experience with this? How's the libido affected? Performance? Lots of testimony from younger folks on the net but haven't run across anything from seniors.

If you don't mind me asking, what is your current weight? (feel free to PM me, I understand about puting personal information on a public forum). By accident, I ended up skipping a few meals, ate a handful of nuts, and by the end of the day, was feeling pretty good.  Not the "impressive wood" (had a date this afternoon), but felt pretty good.  Clearer vision, more alert, and some of the other effects you mentioned.

Tip....I'm 6' 2" and my weight fluctuates between 225 & 230. I'd like to get it down to 210 - 215.
I understand if you adhere to this plan closely the pounds can come flying off once you get into ketosis.
I haven't weighed myself since I began but I 'feel' lighter! We'll see.

a high protein, low carb diet.   I eat lots of meat, eggs, vegetables, fruits,  and nuts, and have cut down on pasta and bread.

This has been for about 6 months, and I feel great. Sexual performance has never been better.   No weigh loss, but my weigh is ideal for my size (She thinks I should add a few pounds!)   I'm 65.
