One of the songs in the movie that I forgot about was "Shipoopi".

According to Wikipedia"
"The surrounding dialogue does not specify the meaning of the term "shipoopi," which Willson invented for the song. The chorus implies that it means a "girl who's hard to get", and the first stanza says a woman who waits until the third date to kiss is a shipoopi."

So I guess us providers are not a Shipoopi but rather according to the lyrics... a hussy.

Oh well, I think it sounds better to a hussy than a Shipoopi.  What are your thoughts?

Here are the lyrics:

Well a woman who'll kiss on the very first date
Is usually a hussy.
And a woman who'll kiss on the second time out
Is anything but fussy.
But a woman who waits 'til the third time around,
Head in the clouds, feet on the ground!
She's the girl he's glad he's found--she's his
Shi-Poo-Pi! Shi-Poo-Pi! Shi-Poo-Pi! Shi-Poo-Pi!

Boys:
The girl who's hard to get!

Marcellus:
Shi-Poo-Pi!
Shi-Poo-Pi
Shi-Poo-Pi

Girls:
But you can win her yet.

Marcellus::
Walk her once just to raise the curtain,
Walk around twice and you make for certain.
Once more in the flower garden,
She will never get sore
If you beg her pardon.

All:
Do re me fa so la si
Do si la sol fa mi re do

Marcellus:
Squeeze her once when she isn't lookin',
If you get a squeeze back, that's fancy cookin',
Once more for a pepper-upper,
She will never get sore on her way to supper.

All:
Do re me fa sol la si
Do si do

Marcellus:
Shi-Poo-Pi!
Shi-Poo-Pi!
Shi-Poo-Pi!

Boys:
The girl who's hard to get.

Marcellus:
Shi-Poo-Pi!
Shi-Poo-Pi!
Shi-Poo-Pi!

Girls:
But you can win her yet.

All:
Shi-Poo-Pi, Shi-Poo-Pi, Shi-Poo-Pi!
The girl who's hard to get.
Shi-Poo-Pi,
Shi-Poo-Pi, Shi-Poo-Pi, but you can win her yet.
You can win her yet!
Shi-Poo-Pi!

Singing about this subject, when one of Robert's last roles was one he spent his whole life hiding, Victor Victoria, a classic.

how this relates to over 60 sex, hobby, etc.
Just strictly trying to figure out the angle.

Simply put.....
The gals in this hobby (as well as in civie life) have been called many names. And the over 60 are the only who could relate to the movie and the names used in the song.

Wow who made you the board police?  Sorry to disappoint BUT IT DOES relate to gals here AND in life and the "labels" that are put on us.

Thanks for answering and sharing your prespective in the first paragraph. That makes sense. I'm glad to understand your view.

On your second paragraph, you are a nut job. I have been warned, they are right. No matter how kindly I asked with adding the emoticon, you still flip out and infer all manner of bizarre, defensive ideas. All in your own head. All your own, and not any other lady's. You are alone in your twisted interpretation.

I am not the police of anything. But I certainly can aske a clarifying question politely. I am not disappointed in any way. You answered the question. I like that. The labeling is a stretch of a connection, but I am not you. I am not even a woman, so we will see things differently. I am glad about that to.

You have a problem. A real problem. Maybe facing that and treating others better might be of benefit to you. Maybe people could trust you and befriend you. I hope life treats you well, either way.

You say I have a problem?  Don't think so - as it is you that is hiding behind an alias - I am not.  I am an honest and fun person.

I love this particular movie which is from the 1962 so only this board would appreciate how things have changed yet stayed the same. It was all a light hearted look at a word that was made up just for the play and movie.

If my original post was inappropriate it would have been removed or not even allowed by TER - not you so why slam me? And why not lighten up yourself.
