Mickelson is playing and a new slim and trim John Daly will be the primary drawing cards.
Unfortunately what should be the first head to head pitting Mickelson against Woods won't happen.
This has to be killing Woods who has won this tourney six times. Phil has taken it twice, and Daly once.
I will still be exciting, but I sure wish Tiger was in the field.
Kudos to Phil for not getting sucked into a bunch of Tiger conversations with the press. Love him or hate him, Phil always responds appropriately. He's a class act.
That Tiger has essentially ignored them. That is why they have been vilifying him lately.
I hope the other players will follow suit and ignore the starving paparazzi.
Not being there must eating at Tiger. Maybe this will prompt him to come out of his cacoon, face the music, and get on with his golfing life.
Personally I'd love to see him come back and totally refuse to answer questions about his personal life. The media needs to be sent a message that the public does not need to know everything about everybody.
I sincerely hope they work things out and it's nice to know he's addressing his issues.
