NASCAR is fun....I go to 4 or 5 a year.  The NHRA pro events is fun X 10!

If you're in Long Island than go to the Englishtown, NJ meet this summer.

has made Don "The Snake" Prudhomme RETIRE!  THE SNAKE!!!!  He couldn't get a sponsor after 46 years!!!   His match racing days against Tom McEwen (The Mongoose) were classics.  Anybody got any of the match box race cars of Snake and Mongoose?

I've been racing, on and off, for 40 years.  I've raced SCCA, IMSA, ARCA and NHRA.  I've been to every kind of racing as a spectator and there is nothing...nothing like Nitro racing.  IMHO

The NHRA drivers are the friendliest and most approachable.  The best deal on the auto racing planet.

And the SNAKE can't get a sponsor!!!

My world is coming to an end.  I just may end it all..............

event.  When I was a teenager, I used to go every once in a while to stock car races in Freeport, LI.  They were a lot of fun, and everybody always had a good time!  It is a classic American event!

Take a bunch of old flip flops, spray paint them different colors and then toss them in the dryer.  Set the dryer for 4 hours and watch them go round and round.  Every so often take one out and slam it against the wall and then set it on fire to simulate the crashes.

Sorry that was bad.  I like SCCA, where they turn right and left.  Used to race vintage british, (TR 6 / MGB)

Yes, I've had a lot of fun in my SCCA ventures.  Wrecked a couple of cars but nothing serious.   IMSA was the most fun in the sports car racing - we went really, really fast.

But the wildest ride was driving my cousins A/A that ran low 8's at 180 in the 1/4.  Damn thing never went straight....but that was the fun!

I had always hoped to drive a fuel car before I croaked but I don't think that's going to happen - it takes serious....fucking serious money.

Too many spinal surgeries and other injuries prevent be from getting on the track again, too risky adn insurance won't cover me for that any more.  I can still run the vintage rallies and we are getting the 68 MGB and the 72 TR-6 ready for the Mountain Mille this fall.  Already have the sponsorship lined up.  hard part will be getting a good co driver,  There is a hottie I'd like to bring along but, not so sure the SO will like that

Just don't tell her the "hottie" is coming along!  OK, you can dream......:-)

Sorry about the spinal surgeries, don't mess with that man....walking and screwing are really fun things and the spine is, like..necessary!

I've had two really bad crashes but no spinal damage.  I do have some impaired nerves in my left arm and wrist - everything works ok - I just have poorer circulation.

I was hoping the economy would rebound soon but I don't see it happening.  I have a dragster chassis that could run A/Fuel.  But to do it right I'd need to find $400K for a year of racing.   Not going to happen now.

Have fun with your race this fall and be careful.
