they have a makeover show in mind for MEN? Now, that would make for some good television! Maybe they would call it "The Gander" or "The Rooster" or something. LOL
Indulge me if you would but I just have to comment on what an entertainment masterpiece of guilty pleasure Fox's "The Swan" proved to be for me. I've for the most part been ambivalent to the flood of reality TV shows and to be honest didn't watch The Swan until last nights finale. This show had to be the greatest info-mercial for the cosmetic surgery industry possible. Before and afters of the most plain, unattractive ladies getting an ultimate makeover that in TER terms would equal a crackwhore SW becoming a 2/hour minimum "A" list provider.
True; Much of the dialogue and commentary was as trite & shallow as the concept of the show itself. The miserable histories & lives of the contestants before their makeovers was reminiscent of the early 1960s Queen For A Day show.
Over all The Swan supported something Howard Stern has been saying for years.

I hate to admit I watched many of the episodes (excuse - my wife watches it). My favorite was when the ladies would come out for their revealing and as they walk over to the mirror everyone is of course clapping and nodding their heads. The guys especially, nodding ``I'de do her''.
Lames show lame premise- I bet they are gargoyles in 10 years
sat in a puddle of my own embarassment and shame. And enjoyed every second of it. I resisted the Swan successfully.

uh? Heard of Queer Eye? One of my faves right now! Very compelling- and you can learn so much...
Queer Eye does not perform SURGERY on anybody, no weight loss regimen, etc. Granted those guys do look better afterward!
A male swan is a cob ... I wonder how "The Cob" would do in the ratings?
