Whenever something like this comes up, I tend to look at the more reasonable presentation as being the one that is closer to the truth. Phrases in the first article that describe Wal-mart tracking every one of their products "on the planet" even AFTER the sale are pure lunacy.
There is no question that personal privacy needs to be safeguarded, and that each of us needs to be aware of the ramifications of new technology with this kind of potential. But be reasonable.
