Did you know that North Carolina was the first state in the nation to establish a state museum of art!

I was looking up Art Museums and stumbled upon this fun fact.

I love life events, music and art and food. Of course I love food.

Now I'm thirsty, here's another fact: Pepsi was invented and first served in New Bern in 1898.

Pepsi I knew, but did not know about the art.

You can't forget the influence of Moonshine !!!!

Whether its the clear that will "cure what ails you", or a still clear more scaled down "flavored" version, say peach, apple, etc.  It is something to not be missed if you have the opportunity.

It should be tried at least once in life and potentially several more times if you happen to like it.

Welcome and I hope you enjoy your visit

Get this, I have never tried it!

I knew a dancer named Moonshine and she smelled like peaches, but never have I drank the real thing!

I'm going to find some this evening. I love me a fruity drink, but I'm not afraid to try it straight up! I like to try things first, as is. Ya know? Why add salt if you haven't even tried the meal...right?!

"We can lose ourselves in the midnight. We can find our way in the sunrise. Grab a mason jar full of fireflies to be our light. Look in my eyes, you got the moon, I’ve got the shine!" - Sara Haze (Moonshine song)

Gulp! - J

While your flavored peaches may have been more fun in the long run, a peach or apple flavored clear beverage is hard to beat!

Even though it may be a "fruit" flavor, make no mistake.  It is far from a "fruity" drink that would come with its own umbrella.  It is meant to be a sipping experience, not a "shooting" experience especially as a first time participant.

Mason jar, absolutely.  Fireflies, eh, maybe not.  But it will lite you up on the way down.

Hmm.. Possibilities.

You'll have to come back in October when they roll out the new sculptures in the expansion of the outdoor park and present the Rolling Sculpture exhibit. The park is a great way to bike, run, or picnic. I love NCMA -- let me know if you need a tour...

And in the meantime, while Pepsi turned its back on its Tar Heel origins, you'll have to enjoy some Cheerwine.

Ah, I love this...learning new things!!!

"bubbly cherry concoction" as Cheerwine's website reads, and I'm not sure why I think that's so cute! :P

Is this soda like Big Red? My cousin in Texas drinks about 6 a day....oh-we! I cannot handle that much soda, unless it's with some jack!

I will have to try me some 'Nectar from North Carolina" as it's also referred to!

Now, more importantly....I think I just fell in love with Museum Park. THANK YOU THANK YOU this place looks amazing!!!! Maybe I could take my morning run there, it really is stunning. (I'm looking all up and down and over the website!!)

I'm such a 'fun fact' girl, I added a link for your viewing pleasure.

I'm on tour...you're offering a tour...sounds like a picnic to me!

MAN YA'LL I LOVE ME SOME CAROLINAS!!!

I'm more a cyclist than a runner -- I can chat when I'm in the saddle -- but I love NCMA and the greenway that runs through it. I think you run nearly 70 miles around Raleigh. If you do go to NCMA, I'd be happy to bring the picnic blanket when you're in the area.

Haven't had Big Red, but Cheerwine is a great drink. Delicious on its own and fantastic as a gin and tonic mixer.
