If I'm traveling it's pretty easy and I plan well in advance. My real life takes me away from here fairly regularly so I get the opportunity to play elsewhere. Typically I'm traveling alone so I don't have to worry about the over interested co-worker or any additional levels of being discreet over an above the normal. There have been a couple of hobby/fun only trips too. Those had a considerable pre planning to ensure the ladies I wanted to see would be around.
No immediate responsibilities in my local region so other than close family and friends not too much to juggle. I'm fortunate in that sense that I mostly have to be concerned with just me and how I want to spend my time. The work situation can cause me to have some strange and unexpected hours, but I've been fortunate in that I've never had to cancel as a result of work when playing locally. Yes I've missed a couple of calls from work due to partaking in some fun, oh well. I'm sure at some point it will happen the other way, but I try to plan it out as best I can. So far that has worked well for me. Every once in a while it's a spur of the moment thing or I may see someone that shows available now and the little guy wins some of those arguments with the big guy. Not always mind you, but sometimesThis question is for everyone. How do you balance real life (job, family, etc) with your hobby time? Do you have to plan far out in advance or can you set something up in a few days?

My fun revolves after hours also. I have tried to see providers in the middle of the day, between client calls, but it usually does not work out, due to timing and my low tolerance for tardiness. I am fastidious about being on time for appointments with my clients, ( I refer to this as Professional, and being courteous). Most providers are punctual, but as I learned a year ago, it is better to book once my professional obligations are fulfilled for the day. I do realize that last minute issues occur; this works both ways.
I travel to several states, so I do not hobby where I live. Great opportunities in my home town, but too close for comfort.
My vanilla time is real work, family...I see an occassional preferred friend or two with lots of planning in this down time.
Hobby time is fantasy time for me. I forget for a moment that I have other roles so that I can be your courtesan, mistress, girlfriend, lover.
Hope this explains my absences and lapses in communication at times.
I never let hobby fun place stress on real life. I hobby when all my other commitments are met and I have an abundance of time and freedom to enjoy a hobby experience to the maximum extent.
Sometimes I know well in advance and schedule ahead (usually not more than a week or so), sometimes I have an unexpected free day and take advantage of it. I never schedule if I am pressed for time or stressed to meet real life commitments
Last minute would be nice, but then my mind is still spinning with the rest of life and I can't turn it off. However, with some planning time my mind knows there's a reboot coming and I can shove work into the back corner.
Then again, except for AMP I've not pushed for any hobby time since September 2015. Work is too much of a focus again.
