Good eye Sedona.  Yes, its French for Silver.

Had the misfortune of being allergic to Nonoxynol-9 and had to endure some "discomfort" for the past week and a half.  :(

So, to my fellow hobbyists.  If you are or don't know if you are allergic to this substance, please let your provider know that you'd prefer covers without it.  It will save you from having some anxious moments and some physical discomfort.

Now, back to the game...  :)

BYOC  (Bring your own cover) No problems with allergies and when you provide your own there is never a worry about "fit". Not all fit the same or are as comfortable. Those who pack a bit extra know what I'm talking about.

Well, most of us ladies really have to watch that stuff! I don't know a woman yet that doesn't get an infection of sorts from it!
Be glad you don't get our 'regular' stuff, ie yeast infections, bladder infections, etc...fun stuff.
Just came from the doctor tonight, as a matter of fact, and she thinks I might be reacting from LATEX (just the latex, period!)since I'm careful to only buy ones without the spermicide. Oh great...
Anyway, glad to hear you survived.
As far as Nautius' comment about BYOC - most ladies prefer to provide them, and bring more than one size; kind. Just let us know if you need King Size! BTW, not being cruel or sarcastic, but do they make ones for really, really small ones? Having a condom STAY ON the 'very much lesser endowed' has been a concern and a mention amongst the ladies.

Warmest regards,
Sedona

Not as uncommon as you may think Sedona.  Many people have allergies to the peptides and protiens found in natural rubber latex (it has caused quite an issue in the medical field - all those rubber gloves and surgical gear).  Polyurethane condoms are available that have proven to be the best replacement in terms of mitigating the allergy side of the equation.  Sorry to hear you are going through that though :(.

Yes, latex allergies are quite serious with care being taken even in food prep and latex allergies can even cause death.

Argent..like that..means silver, doesn't it?
