Lest we forget...a different perspective on National Providers Day (separate but never equal)

The attached article is actually somewhat tame as far as women's issues goes...it is about the Boston Catholic Archbishop and some controversy around a statement he made regarding feminism and something he excluded women in his parish from.
However, on "National Providers Day", it is interesting to see even a light example of how women are often seen in restrictive definitions still...with a "separate but equal" guise that anyone who has lived under that guise knows is a ruse.

Many of you may feel that his attitude "makes sense" within the context of the Catholic church, or may feel that feminism truly IS a factor that is to blame for the decay of society (especially those of you who are divorced with alimony payments).  However, I propose that if it weren't for feminism and the empowerment that it brought women, for better of for worse (as all changes of societies are...just as they are irreversible), things like TER would not exist, we would be still be trolling the strets for our sisters of the night, or furtively sneaking off to the local brothel, hoping not to be seen by an acquaintance, and "National Providers Day" would not be.

As I said in my post on the San Diego board, while I have done a lot of homework on the ladies I have seen over the past 16 months (and I have some overdue reviews to post still), I have been very fortunate to have never had a bad expereince with TER and the providers I have visited.  In addition, I have had some great exchanges with other ladies on this board or in PM or e-mail, and I want to say to all the ladies I have been fortunate enough to be exposed to how much I appreciate their hospitality, their personalities, their talents :), and what they have brought to my spirit.

There are a couple of ladies that I know who deserve special mention, but they know who they are, and this is a post for all providers, not favorites.

Thank you to all the ladies out there...my sisters of the night, my angels of passion, and my partners in experiencing life to the fullest.

is selfish, egoistic, and willful by nature.  Insofar as family is the most basic unit of a stable society, one party to the marital relation has to be dwarfed, oppressed to achieve that end.  Feminism is a revolt against that arbitrary socially imposed inequality, and the higher divorce rate results from women's self awareness and assertion.  But the evolution of racial and gender equality cannot be stopped.  The paradigm of "family" will just have to change to adapt ...
