how do providers feel about touring?

Phoenix used to get a lot of provider visitors who were touring, and although it seems like we still get an occasional visitor, the frequency has diminished.

I'm curious if traveling between different cities isn't worthwhile anymore maybe due to cost of travel and accommodations, or that many providers have other jobs which don't let them travel easily?

I was close to a provider who said she had to travel to keep business fresh and attract more potential clients.  I think she got burned out because it takes a lot of effort to plan and travel.  But she also made more money when travelling than staying in the Phx area too long.

PHX, really, has not gotten that many touring ladies.  Even prior to the economy dump.  In this(PHX) area, the hobby dollors are just not as many as before.  Some of our lovelies tour, because here the business ain't so much.  
I would Love to see more touring ladies, but I just don't see it happening soon.

we have a small supply  of hobbiest that can afford to hobby here in AZ due to recession and LE bust back in 2008....hobby never recovered  fully....the word is out among the providers  if you tour in AZ be prepared to break even  if that.....I can go back East for 10 days and make more  than I can in a month here and they book extended time less volume more dinner dates and overnights ....the providers that cannot afford to tour  or have family ties here are stuck so they must lower their rates in order to work....too many wonderful  ladies here and not enough work for them..... so tour ladies unless they have prebooked reasons to come  are not going to be stopping by here or if they do  they will not be returning any time soon......look at how many of us tour regularly you think we would not want to stay here in our  own homes ?BTW most of my clients are not locals  my business comes from the men I meet  when I tour othere states and they visit here ....We have so many wonderful events happening right now in Az yet the phones are quiet.....we also  have a bad reputation of fraud  with EROS having 33% of rip offs listed  just on that one site .......would  love to hear from  our ladies  that are here or have been here as to how their tours are going or went......

BTW am not knocking our PHX guys I love them it is what it is right now and I feel for them and our lovely providers,,,,, ask anyone we have one of the best group of providers in AZ

I had a guy from DC book me for three hours here a few days ago and said he was wondering why my rates were so low (I told him, "I'm the bargain escort! haha).

I've heard the same from other guys from DC.

I'm actually planning a visit there in March (mainly sight-seeing) and I already have quite a number of guys I've seen here who were visiting from the area or who have seen my ads somewhere who want to see me when I visit. I may have all of my free time slots filled without even advertising!

I toughed it out last summer here without touring and man was it rough! I had talked to one provider who would do to Vegas three days a week. I still haven't done even that (but I've gone to Vegas for fun!).

I have the "family-ties" issue that keeps me from touring. You have to keep your prices competitive to stay afloat if you are here full time... it's even rougher for me because I don't do incall.

Thanks for sharing. Its the same with the Asian girls I know as well. Even at their lower prices they don't make enough to want to visit.  Summers are the worst here, one special lady I knew only had 3 or 4 customers in a one month stay.  I told her that maybe her prices were too high, but she didn't think it would make a difference.   Plus she enjoyed the company of the $400/HR client and felt they were usually more gentle and considerate.

I suspect the economy is the main problem.  Its tough in even the more popular cities.  A lot of good talent, but fewer clients with less disposable income.  Probably hit retirees the worst.  Best of luck to you all.

Yeah, I refused to lower the rates I had last summer and I would go 5 days straight with no appointments.

I will not be taking that strategy this year...

I can't believe someone would tour here in the summer! The reason it's so slow in summer here is that we have very few visitors on top of the fact that so many locals go on vacation. July was the worst. It seemed like after July 4th, everyone died! lol Like one of those disaster movies where most of the population died from a disease of some sort and there were just a few survivors. 28 Days Later.... "Am I the only one left?" lol

I got lucky that I had gotten a new regular that month who kept seeing me twice a week for 2 hour appointments. He practically supported me single-handedly! But I was fairly new to the biz last summer... I don't think it will be as bad this year (hoping).

My friend used to live here, she had two summers prior to last year.  So three years ago the summer was manageable because me and another two or three kept her afloat.  Summer of 2010 was as bad as last year and she went back east.  She moved away last summer to a different city.  Just wanted to share.  In one sense it was nice to have a low volume friend, but on the other hand she couldn't make ends meet.  Phx seems to be a tough market for the full time girl :(

In theory things should be good these days due to the golf tournement and the Barrett Jackson car show.  I'd think it would be very telling if business was slow even during these events.

I frequently check the ter ad boards on account of your recommendations Victoria, so thanks. Its probably not worth paying a lot of money to advertise.  Good reviews and the occasional posts in the discussion board get noticed.  I have pretty much checked out all the Phx based providers Ter reviews and links, and have spent time with my last couple based solely on what's been in Ter.

That being said, I've known of a few busy guys who only check out eros and cityvibe.

Why would we pay for something we didn't need?

If providers got enough business from ads just on TER, we wouldn't advertise anywhere else.

I advertise on TER, Date-check, and Preferred411 virtually for free, but rarely get business directly off of those sites, personally. Maybe other girls do, but I sure don't.

I got a date of off and ad on Preferred411 early Friday morning (3am) just because a member couldn't sleep and had a morning flight. He saw that my ads had just reposted and took a shot that I might still be awake. He was right! Boy, was that a fluke!

I still post on Backpage if I'm not booked with my other adveritising, but it's become just here and there because of regulars and other ads I have running. But I sure wouldn't pay for advertising if I didn't have to!

hi sexy...I have to disagree here  without  EROS I would not be working and I too am on all the sites with the exception of BP so when I do work it  from ErOS and then the smart ones  check in here to cross reference......summers here ? Always been dead  head to the beach even SD or LA for a week  break will  help  you will not get rich after expences but  the weather is nice and you have the beach .....

I just didn't mention Eros or Cityvibe (I advertise there, too) in my post.

The real point is that just the free places to advertise aren't enough.

another  board member{NOT this board} took my post as whining  about no business in PHX  not whining just telling it like it is  the OP asked  and I answered the question  honestly I was stopping over there to post something and then after reading his post  thought why bother defending myself the truth is the truth.....
