Your pretty accurate in your assessment. That is the norm rate in Chicago across the board. You don't always get what you pay for. Doing your homework is a must.
Just arrived in Chicago a few months back. Noticed the provider hourly fees seem to be in a fairly narrow range both for independants and visitors as well as local agency women. Generally speaking, the range of 300 to 400 seems to fit virtually all the better reviewed women and even alot of the new escorts without a track record. From my few experiences here, reading reviews, and checking out websites, there appears to be a much wider difference in appearance and performance than is reflected in fees. In New York, the range was much wider but the "quality" always seemed to fit the price. Have I missed something or is the evolutionary history of the business unqiue in Chicago. I welcome all comments so I can better understand the mindset.

After reading a lot of review on providers from across the nation, I have noticed that fees in Chicago are probably the highest, IMO even a little bit ahead of places like New York City. Is there a tighter supply and demand ratio here than elsewhere? I continue to wonder, as the economy(at least on the jobs front) continues sluggish and more people lose their jobs, whether they will continue to be able to command these rates, or whether they will be forced to bring down their fees just to stay afloat?
Perhaps I'm the exception to the rule, but most of my reviews (especially the ones on TER) are quite good, but my rates are some of the lowest I've seen posted. Maybe this is because I'm from WI and just travel to Chicago?
There is not a shortage of ladies (although we could certainly use more top notch GFE's) in Chicago, so thats not the problem.
The economy has sucked for years now and nobody has adjusted their rates so I don't expect to see that happen either.
The market is what it is in Chicago...no real rhyme or reason I guess. I was in Texas recently and the going rate was $250 for a total hottie GFE. It was then that I truly realized how out of whack Chicago really is. Frankly, I think most guys (myself included) just accept it since fighting it is pretty much a fruitless effort.
I agree... the prices are set by the providers, but it's the foolish clients who drive up the costs by being so willing to pay the prices.
Why this is the case is beyond me. I can't believe the number of reviews and posts that pop up by clients in support of the rates charged by the various providers. When a new provider shows up charging $250... there are idiots telling her she's charging too little.
I call them idiots because that is exactly what they are... at least in a business sense. I mean that's like getting a bill from your doctor, paying him and extra $100 and telling him he should charge you more on your next visit.... WTF??!!!
I suppose many think that they feed a provider's ego by tipping her moreor telling her she should charge more then they'll become a favorite of her... I dunno.
It's not that I have anything agains the ladies, but why on earth would you ask someone to take more of your money?? I think it shows more of the type of clients there are in Chicago as oppposed to the type of escorts there are.
Rates still lower here than New York, but no bargain given difference in cost of living. And NYC has a much larger selection plus everyone wants to tour there. Also many more high end women in NYC with rates that boogle the mind and some great GFE's. Big difference is the competition in NYC does not allow a provider to charge more than the market thinks she is worth. Therefore, you generally get a good sense of the quality by the fee charged. I have not found that to be the case in Chicago.
From my research chicago is more expensive than NYC. I know some high caliber girls in NYC who cannot command the prices asked in chicago. As a girl who tours, I find it critically important to search out the rates. Who charges how much for what and where. I cannot however, speak to quality of service. I can just read the reviews.
