and have NEVER had a problem. I do not use the ones that have a spermicide lubricate that were in question. I do buy mine and don't get them free. Not sure if that makes a difference.

I think, that it may have been a bad bunch. I certainly don't think that Planned Parenthood would use them if weren't reliable.
They are a great organization, that helps many people and supplies birth control to teens at no cost. I doubt that they would take a chance on a condom that wasn't up to standards.

Just my .02 cents

No this isn't a "whats your favorite." I saw that one below.  I was told that Lifestyles aren't that reliable and wondering what people think of that?  I went in for my once every 3-4 month HIV test (while I'm hobbying I try to do that every so often) and the counselor (I'm traveling right now so I went to a municaplity health center) told me that lifestyles weren't that reliable.  I just shook my head and went on my way but was rather surprised to hear that.
Any comment?

A google search turns up the following...

http://www.thebody.com/cdc/crcond.html

Which essentially says that they failed a test that was new and they'd never used before. In my personal experience, condoms breaking are SO RARE I don't worry about it. What I worry about is condoms falling off!

And, from the horses mouth...

It's not surprising to me that condoms kept in a bowl for free distribution might fail. Who knows how long some of them have been there???? Are expirations printed on each condom, or just on the box? I can picture a situation where whenever the basket of condoms gets low, someone refills it... and the five or six that were left over, stay there and get older.

I just checked, and my condoms DO have expiration dates printed on each one. So CHECK and take it seriously if they are even close to the expiration date. And leave the free condoms for people who cannot afford to buy their own.

but now I'm using Polyurethane ones by Durex, Avanti. Latex was becoming a problem.

I think I'd like to try the Polyurethane condoms. Thanks, Sedona.

Then a friend, a guy that was rumored in the circle of friends was supposedly overly endowed....  anyway, that guy friend happened to talk to me about breakage and schooled me...

He also was the one to turn me on to XL Trojans, but especially the ones with a "reservoir" on the end.

As soon as I started using the correct method to put on the condoms, as well as the correct size (Wishing I could find sizes in polyurethane).

The answer to breakage problem was to make sure there was some room at the end and that the condom wasn't on too snug at the tip.  Leave room for some thrusting and make SURE there's not an air bubble.

I LOVE female condoms.. Never had a problem there as they fit ME!

I was told by some medical professionals that the best condoms to use are latex, sheepskin or other materials have bigger pore openings where the viruses can pass trough. Also do not use baby oil or any type of nonwaterbased lubricant this breaks the condom. Ofcourse for larger boyfriends use larger type condoms for smaller boyfriends use smaller condoms.
