Ah yes... It's that time of the year again  - fall is right around the corner, the little kiddies are already back in school, and the adult kiddies are moving into their campus apartments...

It's around 4 am saturday night/Sunday morning, I wake up and hear a motorcycle engine revving - I don't think anything of it, except that it's after bar-closing time on a saturday, and he's probably showing off for some girls...

Well, I'm still half-asleep and hear the revving again -- it's closer this time -- and then i hear CRASH -- broken glass, twisted metal, etc.  I'm freaked out - jump out of bed, grab the dog (no gun here) and the phone, and I'm running out of my building to help who-ever decided to race a motorcycle down my 100% Dark dead-end road...

Expecting the worst, I run outside to a drunken college kid trying to reverse his crashed Eclipse from the broadside of 3 crashed cars in my parking lot.  Of course, the kid took off running as I was on the phone with 911 (leaving his car, obviously).  Thankfully my car was missed - but barely - because he would not have went far if he had trashed my car - my dog would have tackled him.

A few years ago during move-in week, I woke up to the sounds of a guy screaming for someone, anyone, to come out of the apartment buildings and fight him.  No one specifically, just someone to fight him.  After about 3 or 4 of my neighbors yelled 'shut the f*ck up' out the windows, the cops came.  Well, the guy finally had his fight that's for sure - with the cops though.  His blood stain was still visible in the parking lot for a week or so afterwards.

Keep in mind I'm talking about my Cincinnati place - not my NC place.  The cops up here don't mess around.  If you haven't seen the news, one of our campus cops shot and killed a guy point-blank to the head during a traffic stop (which was total BS if you haven't seen the unedited body cam footage yet).

It's about time for this gander to fly south for the winter :)
