Personally I like velveeta cheese as it stays smooth and doesnt break..

And yeah im bored so just had to do it^^ sorry.

has anyone checked out the new TER beta version ..  its very slick and modern and i have no issue with change but .. the font style and size they are using is tough to read ..especially for us over 50 men ...and i have a 24" monitor!

anyone else having issues reading / following the new graphics ?

What bothers me is that the functionality SUCKS!  It's MUCH harder to follow threads than the current design.  I got the hell out as soon as I could and won't go back unless they force us to.  I am praying they do it the way they did when they introduced the current version and left the original up as "Classic TER."  If they don't I think they'll drive lots of people away.

How the fuck did you get "trapped" there? Does JLS have your balls in her purse?

Next time, just ask ROGM to put a rope on the back of his car and pull you out or get Drew and his scooter to help you.

As to all your other points, I have to agree. I don't like change Jake, unless a hooker gives me a refund.

Also, I was only trapped there for about two minutes until I scrolled down and found the "bail" button.
Now, tell us.  When was the last time a hooker gave you a refund? 1947?

Less paperwork that way.

And in 1947, I was only a gleam in my grandfather's eye Jake, while you were delivering his block of ice. ;)

... once the new one goes into production status. That's because there's some features in the new site that support the new rating scheme, and those features aren't available on the current (old) site.

I'll miss the old site because it's a lot faster IMO to browse through discussions, but there's some good stuff on the new site too.  Brave new world, here we come!

I find the font et al very easy to read. I use my Kindle most of the time but it works very well on my Windows 10 laptop too. I'm over 60 and don't have any problems with readability.

...but found it no better than the present site, so see no need to change. I'll stick with this old one unless forced to change.

the font style and size can be a bit hard on the eyes.

If you're using a web browser on your laptop, you can usually adjust the font size of any website by adjusting your browser settings.  In settings, something should say "100%" with a plus or minus button you click to bump it up to what you like.  Might be different if you're on mobile.

Any clue?

Yeah im boree but figure your Id name means you know what real mayo is..

Like several have already said, I find the font hard to read. And what makes it worse is they've locked out zoom. I may be able to change the font size on my tablet, but I haven't tried that because that will then affect every other site. With the current version I can just do a two finger pinch or expand and fit the width of what I'm reading to maximize the screen real estate, but the new version doesn't allow that. And for some reason I can't figure out they want to give up useful screen width to show the number of users, how many are logged on and something else equally as useless all of the time. So I'm squinting at a font that's slightly too small for my old eyes to read a review, but fortunately I can see how many people are signed on right now, because, you know, that's important and useful information.

At least they addressed the color scheme. If you remember early on they used a darker blue for new/unread items and a slightly lighter blue for items that you've read. With the difficulty I am having reading the font in the first place it was almost impossible for me to differentiate between read and unread. I see now that they've gone back to a scheme similar to the current version in which read items are a sort of orangish-tan color, which I find much easier to follow. There were some postings early on complaining about the color scheme but the answer at the time seemed to be that they thought the blue and light blue was more pleasing. I don't know if that was official or user speculation, but I'm pleased to see that they ultimately did listen to the user feedback and corrected that horrible design decision. Maybe there's hope that they'll get the message on the font and/or zoom issue.

...it hard to read, what device are you viewing on? I presently have two windows open on my kindle. One is on the beta version the other on the regular version. (I'm on the same discussion thread too.) The font on the beta is considerably larger than the regular version. It appears to me to be the same style font as on the regular version simply larger.

Additional note: The tree mode in beta opens like flat but keeps the replies connected to the post they are replying too. So branches to the right of the page are like the regular version but you don't have to open each post to read. I do wish they would use different "bullet" shapes but it's not that hard to keep up and after using it a while it's easy.

Edited to add: My kindle is a kindle fire hd 7 so the screen is actually about 5 1/2 by 3 1/2. It's about 4 years old.

Tree view is fine, and similar to Reddit.

It's the Flat view that sucks, and needs some getting used to.
I like the indented format of the current version instead of the stacked look of the beta.

Why not keep some indentation?

At least that is some what readable....

This is what mine looks like #Facepalm

So I tend to reject anything new.  I don't even like to update my iPhone in fears that something will change or look different.

Anyway, for that reason, I don't like the new version.

But I remember not liking this version of TER either when it was new, but as with everything, you get used to it...

It may be OK on a 24" (or larger) monitor. But on a smart phone it SUCKS...and not in a good way.

Can't get in to work at all on my desk top, keeps giving me an error message.  I then have to shut my computer down and start over using the old setup.

I won't use it
